What does ZOS have to do to keep you on ESO compared to another game?

Just curious because this same topic has come up numerous times in guild chat lately.

Me personally, seeing ZOS ban the cheaters is a good step. Likewise so is the new content.

Go ahead tell them, sound off.

It's difficult to say, my first instinct is to reply with renewal of faith in them as a company. If I had to define it I would say give us a detailed plan of the next 12 months of expected changes and activity and open a board for discussion involving it with the developers (notice I say developers not other players). I am discussing statistical changes based on metadata, structural changes based on short and long term expected goals and conditions for roadblocks etc. Not this "hey we want X no ETA, next question?" that gives us absolutely no empirical information to begin planning off of.

Well since I've been here for over 2 years...
I guess that makes me someone who has enjoyed the ride thus far.

I'm always learning and evolving as a player, and I believe ZOS has been doing the same as a company.

So, I guess as long as ESO remains fun for me to play, and ZOS continues to work on making Tamriel a wonderful sandbox to play in...I'll still be here ;)

Here's hoping that we BOTH continue to grow AND adapt in the future :)

For ZOS to keep me in this game, I have to be too lazy to get up & walk over to my Xbox & put Fallout 4 back in the drive.

    It's working so far.

(I still buy discs where the statues and trinkets and other little collectible items are worthwhile)

I have to say this is my impression too - ZOS is trying, it is not as if they would not listen, but they do not communicate well enough with us - it is their first MMO, and so far they achieved the change from a nearly failing game into a profitable one, bringing it to consoles and even it is still a bumpy road, it is improving - so all I can say is, I think it will further improve.

Focus on quality of new content rather than quantity of new content. Based on the DB release on PC, it would seem that there were (and still are) genuine issues with that, yet they still went ahead with the scheduled release for consoles 2 weeks later.

Now it would seem all three platforms have major issues, giving even die hard ESO players the excuse to try other games and potentially lose them forever.

Give me a quarter of the new content that works well, rather than all of the new content that doesn't.

I have a feeling they are going for quality. The next dlc is only two dungeons (previews looked good) and some personal customisations. I'm sure there will be tweaks to what ever is there already too.

I have been fairly satisfied with how it is going. Looking forward to the new stuff. As said earlier, they are still learning and it is early days.

With consoles you have to see, that there is an approval process inbetween - so if they discover bugs and fix them, after the patch is given into the approval process, they have just 2 choices - either release it in the approved state with the bugs, for now, and get it fixed in the next approved patch ... or not release it at all - so what is better?- I think they do what they can. It is not their fault, that Microsoft and Sony have a multi-week long approval process to allow it to be pushed to their platforms.

    I hear ya!

But after the lack of content between Upper Craglorn and console launch, I'm not going to complain too much about getting new stuff to do more often.

But it would be nice if it would come with a "few" less bugs ;)

And it is pretty much stuff, which was requested - people wanted more 4-man dungeons and now they get 2 targeted at 30-45 minutes gameplay each. People wanted more ways to customize their characters, they wanted costume dyeable, they wanted race change and so on - the next DLC is delivering on these requests - and it has balancing of course as well and bug fixes. I forgot to mention the most vital change to me - One Tamriel - finally it will become more of an open world design.

So what is to complain here, they deliver on things, which players requested from them.

The game is already free to play and doesn't badger me to subscribe the moment I log on, every single day or every hour like some other MMO's tend to do. Crown Store is mostly cosmetic, no need to buy anything to play, it's really buy if I want to. I gave EQ2 a try, didn't last two weeks with every time I got on BAM this huge advertisement pops up telling me the features of subscribing in window that eats up a third of the screen. While the Crown store window does come up from time to time, it's not excessive.

To be total honest ZoS have to loan blizzard banhammer for one thing ZoS need to take more serious and show us the community that cheat is not ok and the need to much hard then the are and maybe put more way to lvl skills in both DB and Thieves Guild DLC for honest ZoS it is get little tried to do samething over and over and also put more quest line in DLC for honest both DB and Thieves Guild DLC are good but you play them through with in 1 week after it get release.

Well if I recall correctly you like PvP - there is capture the flag in Cyrrodil coming - dueling is announced - ZOS is working on that part of ESO as well - but as far as the lag problem goes, I do not have much hope, because I think, the problem is not a technical one, but caused by design - zerging is beneficial and much too many AoE effects in the combat system - and this is IMO the reason for lag - the tech guys will hardly be able to better it - it would require a combat system redesign IMO.

I have not been playing since launch, in fact only been playing for 9 months, so have not lived through a long drought awaiting new content. Since I started playing, new content has been steadily coming out before I have time to finish the original content.

I only do PVE, still have more than half of Wrothgar and Craglorn to do and have not started either TG or DB, even though I am now an ESO+ member. Things like undaunted dailies, writs and random dungeons all keep me busy enough that hopefully by the time I get to TG or DB, they will have fixed all the bugs (as long as they don't get too distracted with the next DLC).

Mind you, the DB patch broke random group finder so rather than giving me a new DLC to go through they have taken away something I was enjoying immensely. So instead of giving me something extra, they only did a one for one swap.

I would also mention that costume dyes, additional character customization and race change are not high on my list of priorities. Yes I know that people play the game for different reasons and I am not against that at all, each to their own.

I'd like to see a Japan/Oceana Campagin for PVP.

Either dedicate a server located in Asia for it, or just IP lock one of the empty vet campaigns so only Asia/Oceana players can join.

I play from Japan and my Pvp lag is dreadful.

I really do love this game, but I rarely play now because of the lag.

New content. That's really about it. And I don't mean 2 dungeons and a barber either :P

As for going to another game? I don't play other MMOs and would have nowhere to go for that if ESO died for some reason. In my case I'd just go back to stuff like Skyrim, Fallout, Witcher, other RPGs I've got backlogged, etc. All single player games. No other MMO has ever offered anything I could tolerate.
