CP cap confusion clarification

CP cap is 501
Gear level is CP 160 for max gear.
The CP cap is said to be increasing... Not gear level. I hope this helps the people worrying about gear everytime a CP cap increase is mentioned or requested.
Remember...
Gear level is your equipment.
CP cap is the maximum number of CP you can allocate on your character.

Yeah, you are correct.
CP160 ---> current max gear level
CP501 ---> current usable CP cap
Both will increase in the future.

CP is still obtained after you reach 501, but only 501 can be allocated. 167 in each of the three constellations.
I have 607, so 106 CP just in waiting for the cap to go up.

Blevil✭✭✭I don't mind grinding for higher level mats. I just want them tempers to be more easily obtained. Something like what they did to kutas. Now at least they are more affordable and will probably be cheaper than other tempers.

✭ZOS stated publicly that they were raising both, but not until they had worked out the kinks from removing Vet Levels in DB.
Whether they do them one at a time, or both at the same time remains to be see.
Their track record though would be to release both, untested late on a Friday which is also a 3-day holiday weekend here in the States.1 -

Yeah for me it's also all about the tempers. I love to play multiple characters and I don't have a main character and I'm still not even upgrading my gear for most of my characters yet because it's just too expensive to do so. Gold glyphs are the only gold level item I am comfortable making whenever I wish because it takes just one Kuta to make a glyph whereas it takes several tempering alloys to upgrade one piece of heavy armor to max quality.
I've always found it easier to earn Kuta in this game than tempering alloys. Maybe the RNG system is just messed up for some of us?Am a whimsical Generation Jones gamer. Online RPGs hooked me since '94 and no sign of stopping soon...0
