Just by curiosity, now that ESO Plus members have access to the crafting bags and will be given the ability to dye their costumes for free in update 11.

It's anonymous. :)

I have subscribed since the PC beginning (with a 3 month interruption when Upper Craglorn was released, to state my discontent with more group-only content), but I consider myself a casual player - so what option do I pick? Options 1 and 4 both describe my choices now, and option 5 was also applicable for a bit when the game was subscription-only...

I currently subscribe because it gives me the freedom to go anywhere in game at any time without having to spend crowns on a DLC I may not play in months (for example, I only take a character to IC 3/4 hours per month if there is a guild outing, and only one of my characters is an assassin; only two are thieves). The bonus crowns are nice to have but I'm not overly interested in cosmetic stuff... so far I only bought the black senche mount, the nixad pet, the grey cat pet and a blacksmith costume. Ah, and 4 more character slots to expand my Khajiiti army! I am very happy with the new subscription bonuses: crafting bag and now dyable costumes are good to have, I can see myself continuing to subscribe for a long time.

If you stopped for 3 months, I think you're good to go with option 1. ;) I'd advise players to choose what is the best option in their opinion, there is so many more options that didn't cross my mind when I created this poll. I'm curious to see how attractive ESO Plus is to the community, espacially now that new perks are being added.

Don't hesitate to explain your point of view on the matter if you feel the need to. ^^

Wow, pretty nice poll, love it how you didn't colour the options to show your own personal bias and gave so many choices.

My case is exactly that I have been a subscriber since day 1 and dropped my sub recently for several reasons.

For starters I don't believe in free to play. I'm sorry, but if the game takes money to develop and maintain, then you should pay to play it.

Secondly, I hate microtransactions with a passion for the dishonest money grab that they are. They don't reflect the cost of developing and maintaining the game, but rather create a wholly artificial monopolistic market that preys on people's impulse decisions.

Thirdly, the way ZOS dealt with the whole cheating and exploiting issues, from the crafting surveys to the CE debacle, was an exercise in how not to handle this sort of issues in an online game. No real hard punishments, overturned bans for proven cheaters and non-existing communication with concerned players.

Lastly, and this was the last drop for me, I think the switch to the combined sub/microtransactions model has hurt the game, and we've seen it clearly with the last 2 DLC (puny size, zero replayability value), with the ever-increasing grind (glass motifs, anyone? Seriously, 14 pages, each of which requires 10 fragments that are tied to non-repeatable daily quests plus a 10k gold "resin", and that could still get you duplicates until the end of time?), the dominance of BoP...

I have very mixed feelings about the upcoming update. I like the idea of appearance changes and costume dyeing, though these were looong overdue. I *don't* like the idea of race changes (seems like an admission of the current imbalance of racial passives), though i can live with it. I hate the idea of a DLC consisting of dungeons without a corresponding zone to explore. I hate the idea of One Tamriel where all zones are battle leveled.

I still have time on my ESO+, so I'll play it out until the end and decide then whether to subscribe again. One thing is for sure - I will not play as a non-subscriber, so it's either I think the game is worth the monthly payment, or I don't play it at all.

Very similar feelings , on top of several other points if mentioned will get the thread closed in a blink of an eye :D

Canceled my sub today after an incident here on forum, ESO+ expires in 2 days. I love this game dearly, but god all the latest craziness makes me question my sanity for wanting to throw more money in this game.
Skye Cloude - Sorc DPS, Master Crafter. Main, the bestest
Lae Lenne - Templar Healer Trial grade.
Dromede - Stamina Nightblade, she's a newb and doesn't know what she's doing
V'oghatta - Stamplar pretending to be a tank
Ulville Thonvella - aspiring Fire Mage, be careful around her fire sticks!
Dromedaris - lost and not found. Named after a shoe, what else can you expect from her? A proper tank in her wildest dreams
Swims-Naked - too pretty to grind, too silly to quest.
Sun Flair - Dunmer Templar that can't spell for life. To bad she's too broke to afford a name change... Well, at least she's pretty...

It's a shame you can't mark multiple things. I was an eso subscriber since launch but then stopped around the time of IC because I lost interest. I resubbed recently when VR's were being dropped and crafting bags were coming in.

Cancel because if ESO declared they were no longer subscription then lock major features/things behind a subscription that are not battle or area content then it is not buy 2 play. It is entering the slippery slope of pay to win.

Just change the model back to subscription if that's the case. A dye system should be implemented as part of a dlc expansion not a vending machine with extra perk given to subscribers.

Pay to win is not what you are insinuating. It means that you cannot access major features in a hybrid game on par with subscribers without subscribing. Yes crafting bags, appearance changes, and dye systems are convenience and cosmetic.

I am not saying it should be free. Just that it should be purchasable in an expansion as a one time payment of 20-40 bucks and not a constant charge like a coke machine. Otherwise the cake is a lie and you do have to subscribe. If that is true just make the game subscription only again.

Buy to Play means you buy a major feature once and it is yours as long as the game stays online.

Crafting bags are a major feature because you cannot craft as conveniently without them. Dyeing systems are a major feature because you cannot look as cool as a subscriber without paying each and everytime you want to change looks.

Nickel and dime vending machines is the free to play method or pay to win not buy to play.

Nice try being a smart alack but you failed. Try again.

Let's call the game Tamriel Limited and just make it subscription only please.

Well for one it doesn't work on Xbox one ever 100% of the time since launch.
And the other thing is I'll buy crowns whenever but I prefer not to sub so until they figure out that $15 or more is $15 I prob won't sub anymore due to outstanding issues on Xbox one.

So I want to say I am NOT an ESO Subscriber.

I bought some of the DLC and when I'm ready for the rest I will buy it too. While I'm glad the rest of you are getting great perks for subbing I really see no reason other than to support the game, which is what I'm doing buying the DLC.

Maybe when I'm a little more financially stable I'll throw more money at the game just to do it but right now I'm really enjoying the free to play and that's all I really need.

Also there seems to be a level cap increase perk with subbing but I cant be sure. This MIGHT be a reason for me to sub when I hit max F2P level.

this is basically how it was for me as well - once crafting bags were announced as ESO+ exclusive I subbed and did not buy any further DLC - I have bought Orsinium and IC before though. It was reasonable to do that before they announced that, after that it has been more reasonable to subscribe.

i wonder where this rumor comes from that there would be a level cap perk - ZOS said nothing about that and it would as well not be wise to offer such a perk. Better watch the live show yourself, here it is https://www.twitch.tv/zenimaxonlinestudios/v/74304741

@Shaun98ca2 level cap (level 50, max 160cp gear and max 501cp) is the same for everyone, that's not different for subscribers. I sub because it's my preference and I was already used to it from before the B2P model, absolutely nothing wrong with purchasing the dlc you can afford/what interests you :) The perks they have recently added a pretty cool, but some people will like them more than others, such is life.

Eso+ does get 10% more XP, but the cap is still the same. So that 10% extra isnt helping if you are already at cap :) that might be what you were thinking of.

Me too! It is really the best way for me to do it, really, with the exchange rates so unstable in my country due to our political-economical crisis. I would rather pay for as many months as I can in advance because I don't know what will happen on the next month. Or week, really.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

i came from a "free to play" with a few other were we were spending at least $20 a week on the game.

we all now only pay $15 a month. . .

free to play is a lie, the "mium" in freemium is latin for "not really" and ESO plus is cheap and a great deal.

and if your one of the proud turds that proclaims "i have never spent any money and never will rawr rawr" then you don't get to comment on the game, and if you leave that's fine the game would not want you because your a d**k!

Everybody spent money on the box, at least. Everybody. Well, unless it was gifted to them, but then someone still paid. There are no freeloaders in ESO. Most of us actively playing non-subs also purchased some DLC and/or crown store cosmetic.
