The fact ESO does it for Crowns is both expectable and acceptable. Otherwise people will change their names too much and that may cause problems.

Getting a hair cut, changing makeup, adornments, facial hair, and similar, should have cost gold only, it should have been integrated into the game and not just given as a crown store token. Or they could have done something new that furthered the genre as a whole. Something that players would talk about in other mmos for years to come. But no.

To me this is not really acceptable, but is a sign of the times: Gaming companies are now owner by/are big business and money-making entities, they have zero passion for x,y or z game they have. However they're happy to tout differently as long as they're making money.

It's sad, but gone are the days where developers were truly ardent about their games. Sure they will still say they are, and pockets in the industry still might be, but one just has to look at what they're actually producing, to realize the talk is mostly just hot air.

ZoS do good things, don't get me wrong, even some great things. But then they go and completely mess up the simple things. It's just very confusing at times, and - worse of all - results in one having zero faith in the promises of what might be coming, and no trust in the quality of what is.
