Cp cap raise

So I just finished my cp 160 armor set.
Full legendary everything
And then they anounce the raise.....
Im honestly going to stop trying to compete if I cannot up upgrade my armor some way. Just the *** grind it takes to get the best gear, and now we are going to have to start from square one all over again.
I have a limited time to play eso, because I have to live everyday and so on, and I dont want to spend the coming months after the dlc launches on grinding writs, refining mats etc etc
Please Zos, give us an upgrade system for current gear.

Um, just because they are raising the CP 'cap' doesn't necessarily mean they are raising the max CP for gear. They might, but my thought is they are raising the cap from CP501 to CPxxx.

It's not terribly surprising that the item level is going up. This is an mmo after all.

edit: The real question is what it will take to craft gear at 170 (or whatever the new cap is). If it's a new material, will it still take 100+ units of material or will it reset back to 12-15 units?

So the sets that have just been updated to 160, they getting raised too?

Anyway this is just... eurgh. No point grinding/farming for sets now, will be obsolete. Is this happening with next update?

Idc how stupid my post sounds after this, but if they do what you say I will be happy

I missed it, by how much are they raising the cap?
And ye OP, I wouldn't worry too much. I highly doubt they would want to release a new higher tier of gear already.

    This.

160 Champion Points is not the actual Champion Points Cap. It's 501 Champion Points. When you hit that number, you continue accumulating Champion Points, but you can only allocate a total of 501 CP (or 167 CP per constellation). So, in theory, if the cap was raised to 540 CP:

Say you have 546 CP accumulated and all 501 CP allocated when the update happens.
You would then have a total of 39 CP extra you would automatically be able to allocate. That is a total of 13 Champion Points per constellation (The Mage, The Warrior, The Thief).

Gear should still be 160 CP as a requirement as far as we know. I doubt that will change anytime soon, especially with One Tamriel coming right around the corner this Fall.

    Hope that helps.
