Will we see anything in game for holidays or yearly events?

I don't want snow for Christmas either, it may be hard for you to grasp, but this is a fantasy game. Not everyone holds with your idea of what is seasonal or correct. I don't celebrate Christmas, I'm not a Christian. I know this is going to be a struggle for some, but why should the game I play in a fantasy universe where there is no god and no jesus, be dominated at times because some people want it that way? It's a fantasy game, not an advent calendar.[/quote]

they have an entire tamriel calendar with holidays if you would take time to read the threads instead of one post you will see we are open to having any of those be celebrated in game snow was just 1 example thank you

Half of the world also doesn't get snow at Xmas too. You know below the equator in winter it's actually summer. Our Aussie friends don't even know what snow is but face extreme heat on the 25th December. How about as it's Ramadan at the moment we remove all food buffs during day light hours in game?

It's really creepy seeing my own words in your post because you have somehow butchered the quotes - not sure I am happy about that. Just saying it in case anyone starts getting confused between what I have posted and what you have posted.

I am more than happy with Tamriel holidays being celebrated, as I have already said. I am not happy about 4th July being celebrated (the thread title has been edited since the thread was started, it was originally asking for 4th July to be celebrated - and the idea of a US national holiday being celebrated in an international game is something I cannot agree with).

BDO gave players some fireworks and green dye for armours and weapons on St. Patrick's Day. So why not have something similarly simple in ESO? I wouldn't mind and not use it if I don't want to, but good for those who want to celebrate a RL holiday in their favourite videogame.

I don't give a brass monkeys what other games did, I do not want IRL holidays or religious events having any place in Tamriel. I am not religious IRL, I do not want to see IRL religious holidays there especially. If you can't deal with a game/fantasy setting that doesn't have Christmas, then I feel sorry for you.

I would be happy with events being celebrated if they fit into the existing Tamrielic calendar. But to fill everything with snow and "woo-hoo it's Christmas" would be horrible - we don't all celebrate Christmas, and I have on occasion spent the Christmas period in countries that don't celebrate it just to escape the enforced jollity - please ffs don't bring it in game. If you love Christmas, go celebrate it with your kids/nieces/nephews/family and enjoy yourselves - don't force it onto the game so that those of us sat here with nothing else to do are made to feel even more ****.

Actually the original thread title was about having 4th July celebration in game, and that is what I was initially replying to. The comments about snow came later, relating to how people feel christmas should be presented in game. I feel that the OP changing the thread title has lead to some misdirection wrt what we were originally replying to. Also, *you're.

And no, I don't want Christianity or Jesus in any fantasy games - no Christmas no Easter in games - just keep it out of games. If you want those things, go to church.

I for one would HATE it if Christmas was thrust upon us in-game. I despise Christianity and Christian celebrations, and the majority of humanity across the globe doesn't celebrate Christmas, so I certainly hope that the Devs don't force it on us.

Quite, I am in the UK which is largely split between agnostic and atheist, we don't want religion in our games. At least not IRL religion; we quite like stuff that gives a fully fleshed out belief system for our fictional worlds, such as Aedra and Daedra in Elder Scrolls...

At least if I am wrong and the entire of Europe ends up in hell because of our godless ways, at least in hell we will have a majority of European citizens and will therefore still have universal healthcare.

I agree on having celebrations that could add a touch of things going on to the world. But make them lore specific. And maybe not aligning with Human Holidays. I know most games have their events to give the players some fun and give the devs something unexpected and creative to work on...

BTW @hamburgerler76 did you miss cake day in April? That was quite the celebration. I hear a lot of alts were made :D

Totally agree with you. No problem with something related to ES lore and relevant to the game.

But nothing that is from IRL religions. Do not want them poisoning my escapism as well.

With One Tamriel this one hopes that many more of us will wear a level 14 red khajiit style hat and go fishing to celebrate Fishmas this year.

Khajiit wants to point out that the participation is entirely optional though. You may all get drunk and go fishing at any time of the year for any reason you wish at all.

Tamriel's Holidays was suggested alot and Zen liked it, I would almost bet its on the "list". Show ES's cultures would be great attraction for ES fans come to the game. I bet theres some HC ES fans playing single playing games, but if anything Tamrie's Holidays would bring them here.

Would be cool to see an in game event happen something like fireworks over each alliance capitol on the 4th at a certain time. I am sure there has to be something fun and lore friendly in game they can do? what would you guys or girls like to see?

They need to have Tamriel holiday events. It is one way to attract vacation players back to the game. It needs to be in the theme of formal events, with quests and achievements to be successful at this.

I expect them to do more with Holidays, Tamriel or not, because it is an easy sell in the Crown Store. Especially the real world Holidays. If they use real world Holiday events, they will use events from around the world, not just the US ones. More opportunity for Crown sales.

Zos don't do events, might get a 100% xp boost again but as far as festival stuff goes doubt it.
