New set armor for sorc doing vma?

Howdy yall,
I got my stormproof title before the patch and had no problems running the arena. After the patch I can actually go to stage 6 without dying or using sigils, but the boss fights for 6 and 9 are suddenly INCREDIBLY difficult...
I used to run the usual 5 julie 3 willpower torugs swords, and kena set- but it just isn't working anymore....
It takes me like 30 tries for the last boss of round 9 now, and I feel like my dps cant compensate for the sustain.

Instead of whining, I want to find viable armor/skill alternatives because I just can't give up on my sorc- who I've mained since day one.
I'm doing engine guardian with 4 overwhelming and 2 piece torugs hoping that the thief stone and elf born will compensate for the losses I took from not using Julianos.
Any other ideas for good power and sustain? I couldn't afford to keep my wards up all the time with the old setup, leaving me with no resources and causing any epic wipes with the boss under 5% health.
Is this a decent idea? What about spell power cure or scathing?
Lastly but most important to me is champion point distribution in the red trees- no more bastion? How should I spec my cp's? I have 480.
Trying to make sorc still viable. Anyone who cares about pve please share your thoughts!

juhasman✭✭✭✭Try 5x elegant 2x kena.5 piece bpnus of elegant increase pverload attacks dmg by 20% and after 2 attack You have kena procced. Overload spam will smash every boss on Your way. I killed 6th stage boss in less then 40 seconds. You can hit with overload for like 45-50k crit. All You need is just to stack atleast 800 ulti before final round on each stage.Overload also charge Your magicka so no sustain problems. Look how powerfull overload spam is

In red You can spend only 60-70 into bastion and more into ele defender and hardy.5
