Will we see anything in game for holidays or yearly events?

Would be cool to see an in game event happen something like fireworks over each alliance capitol on the 4th at a certain time. I am sure there has to be something fun and lore friendly in game they can do? what would you guys or girls like to see?

    No.

Tamriel is not in the US, and more countries than the US play.

*shrug* stranger things have happened though...

Everyone in Tamriel will gather at major cities across Tamriel and grab their Flame and Frost Staves and shoot fireballs and iceballs into the sky!

Either that or they won't give a damn.

Unless the date has some significance on the Tamriel calendar (Which it does not seem to), I can't see why it would, or it should, be celebrated in-game.
If you can be anything, be kind.

Nothing that aligns lore-wise, and putting a national holiday in an international game doesn't make much sense.

agree with above, and that this game predates 1776, so no use celebrating it :p;)

Why in the you know what would there be anything in Tamriel to celebrate 4th July??? I don't see anything in there for Bastille Day (which is just as important in France as 4th July is in the US), or any other national holiday. I'm in the UK and we don't celebrate 4th July, why should it be a thing in game?

By the way OP feel free to indulge yourself in the Tamrielic Calender: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Calendar

Tells you what each month and weekday is in Tamrielic terms as well as what holidays Tamriel celebrate.

Seriously, just be content with letting off fireworks or whatever you get up to, and please realise that it is NOT an international holiday - by all means celebrate it locally, but don't force it into games that are played internationally, where that particular celebration means nothing to a lot of people who play the game.

It would be like me asking for a Guy Fawkes event, it's a celebration that is particular to your one country, most people won't get it, and you do not make up a majority of the people who play the game.

I never thought about this before, but is the time of day in game synced for everyone?

We should totally get together after dark and fire off our Destro staves into the sky, eat junk food, or maybe gather at a beach in Auridon and just party.

It's not an international holiday, a lot of us playing this game don't give a you know what about 4th July (remember there is an EU server which is busier than the NA server, and none of the players there give a you know what) and just forget it. American holidays are not celebrated the world over, sorry if that is any sort of surprise to you. This game is international and should not celebrate various national holidays, end of.

No it wouldn't be nice. Explain to me how it would be nice for any player outside the US to see a reference to 4th July. Go light off some fireworks outdoors in the real world, don't force your celebrations onto the rest of the world as if they are some sort of international holiday - it's not relevant to the the other 95% of the world so keep it out of the game. We don't care about your 4th July celebrations, and DO NOT want any reference to it in game.

EDIT: I know it seems part of your life to celebrate 4th July every year, but it is not part of most of the world's life to celebrate it - in fact we don't even care.

And are you really so ego-centric that you think the entire rest of the world should be celebrating American independence? Do you think people in Spain, or France, or England, or Poland, or Romania celebrate it? Do you think everyone who plays this game celebrates it? 4th July means nothing to most of the people in the world.

I always do my best ;) It's the truth though, no-one in the rest of the world gives a flying whatever about the 4th of July. Celebrate it as a national holiday by all means, but don't try to make out that any of the rest of us are interested in it.

Looking at that calendar above, the 10th of Suns Height (7th Month) is the Merchant's Festival, where all merchants except the mages guild drop their prices by at least half.

We, the shoppers, must now begin our demands for half price crowns on the 10th of July.

Linking the in game calendar to the real world calendar might be a stretch, with the game going through days a lot quicker than we do, but any argument for half price Crowns is a valid one.

But really though I would like to see these events celebrated in game. It'd give me more of a reason to hang around towns & taverns.

I don't want snow for Christmas either, it may be hard for you to grasp, but this is a fantasy game. Not everyone holds with your idea of what is seasonal or correct. I don't celebrate Christmas, I'm not a Christian. I know this is going to be a struggle for some, but why should the game I play in a fantasy universe where there is no god and no jesus, be dominated at times because some people want it that way? It's a fantasy game, not an advent calendar.

I'm very happy to celebrate anything lore-correct and go dancing, I am not happy for religious types to try to push their own calendar into my game, or for national holidays (that only a minority of players celebrate) to be pushed into my game.
