Question to ESO players

I have had ESO for about a year now but I am so on and off with the game i have not played much of it at all. Every time i try to get into the game i slowly lose interest until i stop playing completely, then after a certain amount of time i see something that shows much promise for how fun this game can be and i start playing again but sadly i lose interest. Because I'm so on and off I have only gotten a character to level 17 so i cant really judge the game because I feel like i havent really seen much of it. I just see so many videos of such interesting quests and dungeons but when i play its just small repetitive quests its hard not to lose interest. So my question to all the experienced players, am i doing something wrong? Or does the game REALLY start to get interesting once you reach level 50? I usually just do quests by myself cause i cant find anyone to do them with and i cant do dungeons cause i cant find anyone to do it with. Ive only played a bit of the PvP so i cant really make any judgments on that yet. I'm going to start a new character soon and i really want to get far with this one so if anyone can give me some advice i would really really appreciate it, thank you!

you will want to start out only as a PvE player, that way you can go through the story & learn a bit about the world of tamriel through lore books & many other things that you find. do know you will need a very good imagination because it is like ZOS always said on the loading screen tips: "just pick a direction & run with it, you never know what treasures & loot you may find just by Exploring."

as for PvP: you may want to wait until you are a bit more powerful as enemy players will show no Mercy or Remorse in defeating you in Cyrodiil. (I know because I am more of a PvE kind of player.)
If you see me anywhere. Know that I am sitting back with a bag of popcorn, watching as ESO burns the goodwill of its player base with practices that only disrespects the players time like it did to me and many others...

If a game does not respect your time, best thing to do is move on from it and find something else.

Sounds to me like maybe The Elder Scrolls isn't your cup of tea, and there's nothing wrong with that. Or perhaps you don't have a large interest in MMORPGs of the medieval fantasy type, which again is fine.

Thats the thing, I have a huge imagination and I love the Elder Scrolls series, I have most of the games (Arena, Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivionn, Skyrim, and even Elder scrolls adventures redguard). For some reason this game doesnt have that special feel to it.

I love the elder scrolls series, but it could be that MMORPG's arent my thing

@mutan36 ...try to stick with it...build yourself a really durable character (my first was a nightblade - after doing my first group dungeon, the next day I made an orc templar and put him in heavy armor)...

try out the alliance quests - my favorite was the AD storyline - I also really enjoyed the DC storyline in rivenspire...take time to view the landscapes...try farming some resource nodes...do some fishing...become a werewolf or vampire...

if you go to cyro - take some time to watch, particularly similar classed players...

take a little time to think of what you enjoyed in the previous games, more than likely you should be able to find it - if you get bored, try mic'ing up and see if anyone needs any help doing a quest...

early on in the game things feel really crowded...as you learn the maps you'll be able to find more space for yourself...

try putting yourself in first person and do a little people watching...there's definitely a voyeuristic vibe to the game...
