Ye. I still get nothing but resto staffs

So far this week i got a Charged greatsword (I mean come on why is charged even in the vma loot table) nirnhoned and powered restos and decisive and infused bow. That charged 2h really bummed me out tho.

The droprate in vMSA is the same as before Dark Brotherhood, i.e. 50%, the only thing that was changed with DB was the available traits and the fact that weekly now has a 50% chance for an additional item alongside the guaranteed weapon.

With the amount of new ridiculous traits possible on the maelstrom weapons and no change to the actual drop rate it makes it that much harder getting the item you want. I still really hate the fact that a solo arena is the only way to get the best weapons in the game, it sort of goes against the whole MMO idea when you having to endlessly grind by yourself to be able to compete with others.

In terms of your actual question I have kept track of my drops and I am currently sitting at ~40% droprate on maelstrom weapons. Keep in mind that over time your number of drops will even out to 50%, but since it is random there is nothing stopping you from not getting a weapon three, four or five runs in a row. It's RNG, it's ***.

I wish they would have given it the treatment they gave White-Gold Tower and Imperial City Prison, where the dropchance on setpieces was upped to 100% from 30% on bosses (keep in mind some of the bosses in the two dungeons don't actually count as bosses, like Tower's Three Dragonknights and Prison's Overfiend and Gravelight sentry). Still though, with 100% chance for a weapon on a clear it'd still be hard to get a "best in slot" item, since traits like "powered" are now in the mix.

Well they have to balance the drops around the people breezing through vMA with unlimited meteors.

I quit ESO with DB launch for exactly this reason (see this thread). I could name two people. One that hasn't gotten an Inferno staff (in any trait) after 600 runs and one who hasn't gotten it after 500 runs.

They are both still trying it. The one with 600+ runs got 6 rings in a row after DB. The one with 500+ runs got 8 rings in a row. One of them got a powered (more healing done) axe in the weekly, the other one got a decisive (slightly higher ultimate generation) bow.

I'm so glad to be playing Black Desert now. You should really ]check it out.

As for myself, I ran the arena 201 times. No Sharpened Inferno, no Sharpened Maul, no Sharpened Bow, no Precise Resto. 200 runs were before DB. 1 after. Got a Ring of Glory. Uninstalled instantly. Since I already unsubscribed after 77 vMA runs, I would've had to purchase DB. And I couldn't live with myself giving ZOS money after the game treated me like this.
