What moment stands out to you the most in ESO as a moment of just pure awe?
Most if not all of us have em with TES, and the stories I hear from my friends and others always amaze me.

For me it was probably my first dark anchor.
Especially when I heard the voice of Malcom Mcdowell (amazing actor) as Molag bal, taunting me and the other adventurers that we will never win (I actually clapped in real life)
Ah good times, this was when I was PC also so there wasn't that many of us at the anchor.

When I saw they had random npc encounters like skyrim also, I was in awe.
But its not like that anymore as I never see these hardly : (

I had a quest in AD (can't remember exactly where) It was a high elf lady looking for her skooma addicted khajit husband, who was in the wood screaming "this one loves the trees"
That quest cracked me up, but not an awe moment I agree.
Just one of those memories that in 10 years time will make want to play ESO : )

I have some more but I wanna hear from some of you.
So what's your story of awe? I wanna hear it : )

My best one is when you nuke molag bal and he jumps down and shouts "I AM MOLAG BAL!!!" and you start fighting him.

When I first fought molag bal, and it was an actual challenge (nothing to do with me being a magicka sorcerer wearing random crap I picked up because I liked the look of it and using steel tornado as my main dps skill I am sure )

When I had saved up enough gold to buy the horse I wanted (the white one with the brown spots) I walked everywhere until the end of the 3rd zone saving up for that horse, it is still my favourite

When you come across the Bosmer and the Khajiit having a fight in Grahtwood because the Khajiit picked some flowers, and the Bosmer wants him executed because of it

......And of course everything involving Razum-Dar, he my most favourite npc of all time... <3

Those are some of the things that first come to mind which will stick with me about this game, though there are many more...

My first Dark Anchor was as well a great experience.
Level 8 or so in Stonefalls back when ESO launched for PS4. Saw a buge flash in the sky and followed it. Saw a ton of similar leveled players fighting all these things. The voice of molag bal made it even more epic. The awesome battle music was amazing too.

I also enjoyed witnessing Cyrodiil for my first few weeks. Taking on enemies with new players who were all in the same position as I was.
"What the hell do we do?"
"Just fight, we'll figure the rest out later!"
And seeing the insane amount of players all over the place made me smile instantly. I knew at that point that I would be playing this game for a long time.

So many other things I can think of.

Getting to VR14(cap then) on my first toon was an amazing feeling.

Defeating white gold tower for the first time was a great feeling.

Getting my undaunted mettle 2/2 was great.

Leveling up my crafting(still some to go) to where I didn't need other players to help me get good gear was a good feeling.

So many other good times in this game.

Three of us started a Dungeon with a fourth random who dropped out, so we called in a fourth from our guild. It was the Crypt of Hearts, my first time there. Our levels were all over the place too, three of us being Veterans and the third playing his Level 28 or 30 something character. We didn't really know what all to expect so we had our oops moments.

It wasn't till the Flesh Atronach boss where the tension was stretched thin. He does that thing where lines of lava traverse the floor as you fight so you have to constantly watch where you're stepping while also fighting. Our most experienced member was in an Argonian Healer he was still leveling and he was very squishy. I and the nonvet were acting as DPS but doing a horrid job of it and the last guy was our makeshift Tank since he was a Werewolf and those things can take hits like no tomorrow. But we were having a Hell of a time dealing with the lava on the floor and the Boss wiped us several times to where it got down to the point where we were on the verge of just quitting the Dungeon altogether.

We're in deep in our fourth or fifth try on this guy. We've gotten the Boss down into the last 20%-10% of health. Our Nonvet is down. We lost our Healer. The Werewolf is out and tanking as hard as he can while giving hits while I'm skirting the edge firing off my Flares and Heavy attacks and dodging the lava.

    We lose the Werewolf.

Everyone's saying we should just give up. I'm still dodging. I'm nicking the lava, my health is dropping and the Boss is coming. I decide to not give up and just push it. Breath of Life! Jesus Beam! Jesus Beam!

Last up in our group, my health is barely there, but Jesus Beam won the day. Our Group chat just erupts. We'd never been so cheery while playing together before, it was an awesome feeling, and for once it was actually me in the limelight. Against the odds and the pressure of giving up I turned the battle around at the last second, (and with the help of some great Critical damage).

Too bad that wasn't the last Boss. The last Boss, that Lich guy, was a total....yeah.

When I was the last one up against Lord Warden Dusk, and I manage to execute him from 15%.

My blood was pumping, and my heart racing, my cursor moving all over the place, as I see him go into the sky, and I dive into a portal and land, and continue to Jesus Beam him away.

He eventually dies, and I feel relief, and my group members are in awe too.

My first real pvp battle, where I found and fell in with a zerg of at least 75, probably more. I'm an MMO newb, and was mostly sticking to the solo content, until I got bored and decided to try Cyrodiil. I had no idea what campaign to choose, so I picked Azura's (back when Azura's was busy like Scourge is now). Ended up joining this massive battle, and since I was a templar, I just started throwing out heals. It was amazing to see this wave of players mowing down everything in their path. I've been hooked ever since.

I also love some of the Argonian names - my favorite is Scared-Of-Snow, in Windhelm (poor thing).

My first solo pvp kill was pretty exciting, especially since he tried to gank me, and I actually took him out, even though I was specced as a healer/support character. And the first time I soloed a resource, I was actually trying to death-spawn somewhere else, but figured I'd put up a fight for the NPCs, and ended up taking the thing lol.

In open beta my guildies and I snuck our tiny little squishy thrown together armored picked up weapons from who knows where rag tag group together and snuck/fought our way to Mournhold in Deshaan. We were all running around like crazy trying to one up each other with look at this and oh gosh you gotta look at that. I rounded the corner and caught my first glimpse of the Tribunal. Stopped dead in my tracks, called my guildies over, and we just stood there for two or three minutes taking it in. Amazing.

Mine was Dark Anchors, Cyrodiil (using siege weapons to knock down a keep wall with a bunch of players) and umm... I can't remember what else, but Cadwell and Abnur Tharn had me laughing a lot.

My worst moment is veteran Maelstrom Arena, despite completing it over 20 times, I hate that place. Oh wait, you didn't ask about worst moments...

my 1st PvP character was a sorc healer AD (were talking bk before IC launched) i was maybe vet 8, had maybe 70 champion points, and me & 2 others defended a keep (that was fully breached) from a hoarde or at least 20 Reds.

1 of them did some awesome mele, the other did seige, and i healed & kept my mines on the breach (of the inner) after we had wiped them twice, (they were instantly re spawning & running bk) they re grouped & pushed us by force, after an epic battle i was the last of us standing & they were still 12 strong.

thakfully i kept destructive reach on my back up bar, so i lured them to the top of the keep and proceeded to knock each of them off.... wiping each last one

did i mention i was such a newb at the time i didnt even run any shields!

For me it was the first time i logged in,

I was SUCH a noob back then(still am),
My very first character i created was AD,

I spawned in Auridon and somehow climbed to the top of one of the towers,
It was an amazing view and I stood there taking screenshots for like 10minutes..

    The world was amazing...

Since then i think the final fight with molag bal,

    My first experience in PVP,
    was like,
Yes there is an enemy, ATTACK, OOH crap i am dead.. lol....

group kept wiping on last boss in icp. I'd be stuck alone and unable to rez anyone due to cd. everyone kept screaming to whipe and stop wasting time. after 45 minutes of this crap I was able to solo him through from about 70% health.

next one was similar. Had a bad pug in vaults of madness, had a typical useless healer that thought she was god's gift to the world and made the experience unleasant. they whiped on last boss almost right away, I dropped group and solo burned it before I gor kicked out.

Apart from the whole gorgeous environment & recognising certain voice actors (apart from those mentioned above was pleased to hear 'Tuvok' alive & well)?

First time I soloed a dolmen.
    Getting to VR16
Teaming up with random lovely people to do stuff.
    Getting some beautiful armour

Recently - have mentioned in another post - killing Zunduwhatever in Wrothgar with some random people who were awesome. Only 4 of us, no real tank or heavy dps, not all vets, died many times & re-started 4-5 times. Finally managed partly by my nb just going in there when his health low and trying to attack (badly) by just hitting / siphoning whilst being continuously healed by an excellent healer. All without text or voice chat. There were times between re-starts when all were just standing together & I was just hoping no-one was going to give up & leave. And they did not. Totally appreciated it as even tho am VR, am a nb & very inexperienced in group situations. But made me so happy.

I'll have to agree with you about the anchors...That was one of the very first leveling up events I encountered. I couldn't understand why everyone was standing around it. So I went up to the center part and the anchors came crashing down lol. Scared the crap out of me. I loved it...and then I stumbled upon my first dungeon...there was only me and two other people. One person knew what they were doing, and the other one kept lingering behind. But the final boss kept kicking our butts. We eventually beat her after several deaths, none of us gave up, and we finally beat her. I loved doing the dungeon.

A moment of aw was finding a certain idol from a certain merchant in EP that lead to an unusual side quest. I got some good laughs and it made me realize the fun that must've been for quest creation and how thoughtful some of these sidequests were in the game.

More serious is the moments after receiving Akatosh's blessing in God of Schemes. I didn't find Molag bal very intense or challenging, but that whole sequence leading up to him was pretty magical experience-wise.

There are some great scenery views and some tough choices that also got some awe but I'll leave it at that.
