I might be wrong but isn't there vanity pets for people who have subbed for 'X' amount of time?

Yes it was for being subbed the first three months after release if I remember correctly.

That's pretty bad. Rewarding people who have to pay over people who choose to support the game by subbing? Jeez

Edit: Although we do get crowns and free DLC. That probably wasn't the case during launch

Its a tiny nod at early adopters to the game. I'd also say its pretty reasonable. The early adopters of the game are the reason latecomers are able to be here. I'm pretty sure if the game was hemorrhaging cash excessively in the first year they would have cut it off or possibly remade the game. Even so I like the route other games have taken where they give a quarterly reward for subbing with them. This would allow new players to pick up some of the old rewards eventually.

It was from a period of time when game was PC/Mac only, and sub was mandated.

Absolutely. I updated my comment to say what we get now is probably more than what was given at launch. But as was mentioned on a previous thread (and you quite rightly point out) quarterly rewards would be an excellent incentive to stay subbed.

Yup, all of the loyalty rewards (ice wraith pet, dwemer sphere pet, striped senche mount, mask of cheerful slaughter) were for certain periods of time subscribed before the game became buy to play (or subscription time purchased before the game became buy to play).

Yeah they stopped doing it when Tamriel unlimited hit.
So there is no way for us to get em atm.
Im pissed coz I got em all on my rig but missed the transfer : (

I actually would like to see more loyalty rewards introduced for people who have subscribed since the switch to buy to play. They could do it based on number of days subscribed since that point. At the same time, though, it's not really a big deal for me personally. I like the loyalty rewards I already have (all of 'em

) and it's not like I need any more. But it would be kind of nice.

@UrQuan Some people do prefer to purchase DLC's and cosmetic items though, and realistically may spend just as much (or more) as a sub, and play just as much - therefore being just as loyal. I think this was the intention when they added the little bonuses to the DLC's (pet for wrothgar, personality for DB etc.) so that both types of players are rewarded.

Yeah, but from a business standpoint you always want to encourage the steady income stream of subscribers rather than catering to the erratic buying habits of non-subscribers in the hopes that a decent number of them will be whales.

Having said that, I think you're right about the intention of adding the little bonuses to the DLCs. That's almost certainly intended to be a replacement for the loyalty rewards, and both subscribers and non-subscribers who buy the DLCs get to have them. So that's just fine.
