Maintenance issues

Why are you working on the PC/Mac servers when console players aren't even able to load characters in Orsinium and other specific zones? I haven't been able to play in over a week, questing with a friend in Wrothgar.
This issue has pushed him to unsub and has broke the love I had for this game, rekindling my interest in other unfinished games like the Witcher 3. I put $50 on my account hoping that you would have another 40% crown sale as I missed the Thieves Guild one but now I spent some of that on Blood and Wine, and will never give you another dime after this issue as I recently spent $30 on Orisinium that I can't play. I know you will probably fix this eventually but I won't spend money on any future dlc that could be unplayable and lets face it, you won't be making any quality dlc from here on out...this was announced by Matt Firor.

Sorry for the rant but the way ZOS operates warrants such feelings.

I believe everything for ps4 and Xbox has to go through a third party inspection first . That's why it's always last to update .

This is correct. ESO cannot merely push out code through their platforms without getting approval.

what i dont get is how it got approval in the first place.

This is most likely true for things that we have to download like the recent 16GB update but I doubt this applies to server maintenance on their end.

Stop spreading misinformation/ incomplete information. Other publishers and games are perfectly capable of simultaneous, multiplatform MMORPG patches on this scale or higher. FFXIV and DCUO are the two glaring examples of this. It's ZoS that doesn't seem capable of orchestrating rollouts. Don't blame PSN/ Live when a lot of those restrictions were from the previous generations and no longer apply in real world scenarios.

Consoles even get alphas and betas now, with up to date patching. The networks are far more opened than they used to be.

Another thing to note is that when an exploit popped up, they immediately stopped the presses and performed an unscheduled server maintenance to fix it. When an issue arose from their update that caused the game to crash to the point that many of us can't even load up the game before it crashes, they just let it go until their next scheduled maintenance.

It's ironic that the great potential of this game is ruined by it's creator.

I see . Then I have no idea why all platforms aren't maintenanced at the same time .

yes and they have to pay everytime they want to put a incremental patch. So that is why most bugs are on console for a whole DLC because they do not want to pay

That's what I thought I read awhile back but people are saying they don't have to go through all that for maintenance patches just major content . <shrug>

    http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2013-06-26-microsoft-no-longer-charges-developers-to-patch-their-xbox-360-games

Abolished in 2013. Same for PSN. And it mostly applied to INDIE developers, not AAA powerhouse publishers. My God, this hasn't happened for YEARS. People need to stop with that rhetoric. Console games get the same patches and PC on 99% of all games--with ESO being an exception. And developers are not charged for that. It was an antiquated practice that is now DEAD.
