Undaunted skill line & it's passives

hey everyone

so when making builds I know many people tend to 5 piece of medium & 2 piece of heavy (for example)
why do people tend to use at least 1 or 2 pieces of another type of armor?
is it only because of the undaunted skill line?

I am considering to craft some gear for me & can't decide whether should I make 2 pieces of heavy armor or not (I'm a 190 CP stamina templar)
if undaunted passive is the only reason why people make 2 pieces of another type of armor then should I craft the 2 pieces of heavy armor? given the fact that my undaunted skill tree is stuck at lvl 6 for nearly 3 months & I have no idea how to progress it

thx

    Because pools >

But for some builds its better to focus on the attack damage.

The best way to increase your Undaunted skill line is through doing the daily pledges. There are other ways to do it (initial completion of each group dungeon, doing certain dungeon-related achievements, etc) but if you do the silver and gold pledge each day you'll level your Undaunted pretty quick.

As far as why people use all 3 armour types, yeah it's pretty much for the Undaunted passive. An additional 6% each on magicka, stamina, and health is nothing to sneeze at.

For a tanking build ideally I usually prefer to go with a light sash, medium bracers, and the rest heavy. For a stamina DPS build I usually prefer to go with a light sash, heavy chest, and the rest medium (although sometimes I'll just go 7-piece medium). For a magicka DPS or healer build I usually prefer to go with a heavy chest, medium helmet, and the rest light.

Because you get 4% more resources if go 5/1/1 instead of 7 (if you have undaunted 9).
However, for certain things 7 pieces might be better. Especially for PvP stam builds are usually better of with 7 pieces medium for more sustain and cost reduction instead of slightly higher resources.

And I don't really know the maths but I've heard for stamina DPS 7 medium might be better than 5/1/1 because of the crit passive from the medium armor skill line. However, I can't guarantee this to be true. Gotta ask someone who knows the exact maths for that stuff.

Speaking of the daily pledge quests.. I would like to start doing those, but I notice all are group dungeons. Since many are saying that group finders are currently broken. Is there any other easy way to get into a group to do these pledges?

Well I usually do them with guildies... But in the zone with your alliance's Undaunted Enclave there will typically be people looking for groups in /zone.

Yep, then people will see his CP and if he isn't at max (501+) maybe kick him. Good job Zeni

For a stamina DPS, I feel the stats bonuses from the undaunted passive are not worth the losses in weapon criticals and sustainability from the medium armor passives.

I always go 5/1/1. 4% max stamina boost by itself is a no-.brainer without even factoring in magic and health.
I'm losing roughly 1500 stamina, 800 Health, and 350 Magic if I don't vs around 105 regen and some crit.

I'll usually queue for gold and silver dungeons and then also look for a group at the same time. Seems to be the fastest way.

It depends on your build IMO. Most especially it depends on whether you're truly a pure stamina build, or whether there are a few magicka class skills that your build relies on. For example, if you're a NB and your build relies on frequently cloaking, you might be better off with the bigger resource pools because it will mean that you've got enough magicka to cloak when you need to, without devoting any attribute points or enchants to magicka.

If your build really relies entirely (or almost entirely) on stamina skills then you're probably better off with 7 pieces of medium to squeeze in a bit more stamina recovery, a bit more stamina skill cost reduction, and a bit more weapon crit. For a pure stamina build that's probably going to be more effective than getting those bigger resource pools.

I can't see it. The crit bonus amounts to less than a 6% additional to critical chance. There are much more efficient
ways to boost this. Stamina abilities are so cheap with 5 pieces already, that I only have to put 3 CP stam into cost
reduction out of 167. You'd have to be running  with 2.5K+ stam regen or so for your regen gains to have a significant
effect, and that's totally unnecessary and damaging itself to your potential DPS. 6M/1H is acceptable, but 7
medium doesn't make any sense to me.

ask a friend you know that does alot of dungeons, I don't think too ,any people would mind :p You can also hang out in the undaunted area. Usually it's pretty populated with folks looking for groups around the time the new daily comes out, too.
