I tend to get an alloy every eighty or so ingots, but kuta is never in any of my nodes.

Im assuming the new rune drop rate for kutas is an oversight they didnt notice when they made them possible from every runestone where before it was only possibly 1/3 of the time and with bags people dont leave ta and *** in there as much as they used to

I gave up counting. Gets my blood pressure too high.

Today it might take 2k ore for one, tomorrow get one outta only one refine.

One thing is for sure, ZoS has a MASSIVE raging [SNIP] for RNG.

Just letting you know, the results of refining raw materials are highly dependant on the population of the zone you are refining in. If you find a zone which has fewer players, you will get many, many more gold mats than if yout refine in a capitol.

Also it's ridiculous, it's like saying drop rates are higher for female Khajiit characters after they performed the /bless emote.

Ok. Believe whatever you want. I'll believe the results I've had. I get about 5x more legendary mats when I go to a certain spot than when I go to the Capitol. If it were just one or two more, one time I wouldn't be saying it. Is consistent and a very large difference.

Ridiculous suggestion, I kept a record of droprates over many months and that is just nonsense.

When droprates for an item are low in a game, people will often look for some sort of superstitious answer or try to make out that there's some sort of hidden behind the scenes mechanic - might as well stroke your lucky rabbit foot.

I haven't had any luck with alloys lately but I did have 2 kuta's drop out of the same node the other day.

Haha and yesterday I deconstructed 20 ore from hirelings and got one tampering alloy, RNG at its best.

When I refine anything, if I don't get a gold within the first stack I quit for the day. I've noticed on days I get one in the first stack, I tend to continue to get them every 100-200 mats. If i dont stop after not getting one, I hardly ever get one. Like every 300-400 mats I might get one.

People will think you're nuts. But you have a point. I disagree slightly but here is why.

It's not necessarily population, but lag due to population. When I rush to a table and open my refine, and then hit refine, often I get no tempers at all.

If I wait 10-15 seconds to let the game catch up, I almlost always have tempers, wether green or gold, where as if I rush into it I get nothing.

Sorry about your loss OP but at least you can almost buy 28 tempering alloy with all that kuta ( since it's a big order maybe get a discount )

I'd be ok if they would drop the 8 tempers cost for all legendary things down to 5 never could figure why I need 2 green, 3 blue, 4 purple, 8 gold like wth just attack my sequence ocd problems... it hurts bad for tanks who need 9x8 tempering alloys for armor and weapon if using metal weps for front and back bar

Drop it to 5 and only need 45 aloy also recrafting gear when not being rich or a farmer won't be like cutting off a leg with out pain killers.

I need 64 alloys for my new set being a tank, ive only just started farming but out of 310 ore I havnt got one alloy.

How can you not have any alloys? If you've been playing for a while (which I assume you must have been if you need gold upgraded gear) you must at least have some?

When I first started, I would get 3-4 alloys per 1000, then someone suggested to me to split it up in different places. After that I would refine about 100 ores in one spot, then go refine another 100 elsewhere. I notice I've been getting 1 or 2 alloys per instance of 100 ores. Altogether, I've gotten over 200 alloys using this method.

This. If I'm not getting purple or gold tempers within the first 100 or 150 raw materials, then I stop trying to refine that material.

Note that your personal RNG probability for Blacksmithing, Clothier and Woodworking are all separate. It's also character-based rather than account-based. On a single character, I usually find that two of the crafts have high probability of refining good stuff, while the other is low. It's usually pretty obvious which is which

Kuta drop rate is sky high atm, but try finding a (useful) Potency rune nowadays...as rare as hen's teeth...mmm..maybe i should start farming the hens for their teeth, who know if it will become a useful mat in the future

the only way I see Kutas or Tempers anymore is from writs and hirelings. Every update the drop rate for gold tempers plummets....at least for me. The RNGenie has gone deaf to my pleas for help

This is the very nature of relatively-low 'RNG' as people put it. It is what it is, it's the same for everyone.
