Which gap closers permit someone to leap to the top of a keep or outpost wall?

Wondering which abilities with other passives and set bonuses have that kind of reach. Saw a templar and dk leap to the top.

All of them except for Fiery Grip. Fiery Grip doesn't even let you gap close to somebody with perfectly flat ground in between you.

And yet a pebble between you and your target will prevent the charge from firing off

Just remember this is an exploit and if some one reports you for cheating, Zos may take the very severe step of asking you to stop.

Key word is "May" but probably wont, people using CE "Hack" just get a slap on the wrist and allowed back in....phiff.

@ZOS_JessicaFolsom any feedback on the path to resolving this? In recent patch notes the NB gap close was supposedly fixed, but there is more needed.

I personally would hate to see this change. As an archer, I can defend a keep on a wall quite safely raining terror on those below. It's nice to have the excitement of a NB or DK scale the wall and attack. It reminds me of DOAC when they could climb the walls. It also allows melee characters more options of game play rather than running sieges or using their less effective bow.

I say keep it and L2P with it.

Last night in BWB campaign, an EP player was sitting in chair on the keep wall while a fight raged on with DC. Long after the fight, I put a siege weapon on the southwest tower watching a small fight. I was hit by a NB and my siege was set on fire. I ran down chasing the NB. And in the corner sitting in the chair was the same Level 10 EP player. The NB got away. I went back to the top and moments later to be hit by the NB again and siege set on fire. Ran down again chasing NB only to see EP player in his chair. Now why would the NB not attack him on the 2nd floor and keep agg'ing me up top?

If it was intended is say yes, but it's clear it is not intended. It also makes certain siege useless.

As for the mele, especially NB, they have always had a good role in defending a keep other than siege. At least those that L2P.

Oh crap! I just realized this isnt an exploit! Go back and watch the first ESO trailer!!

What is that Nightblade looking character doing! Using outside the box thinking to jump up on to the walls and kill people in that keep, before the wall is down!!

Zos has been trolling us all along!

Someone doesn't read patch notes including the recent ones. It's not an exploit but clearly not the intended design.

Devs commented on this and said that because it is not intended, it will be treated like an exploit and is therefore a punishable offense. However, we all know ZOS fails to take any real action against exploiting and cheating~

Darn, I was hoping it would have him gap closing up there. I'd actually never seen that though, so thanks for sharing. Wonder how they got such smooth FPS.

...and the obvious answer is ZOS allows any of your characters from any alliance to play in any campaign (a change from when they originally didn't allow that on initial release of the game) and now groups usually have an opposing player (a player from your faction) in the game on the wall so they can gap close up to scale the wall.

Stop back in about 6 moths to see if they may have addressed the issue...

I personally like being able to scale walls, it's makes sense it would happen in any siege? Chances are your dead when your up there anyway.

Honestly if they came out and said gap closers were intended to do this I would be all for it, kind of adds a bit more strategy a coordinated group can do.

However, I can already foresee the amount of complaints when it becomes well known and "acceptable" (I know you CAN do it, but it is clearly not intended some people still will refuse to do it, myself included) the zergs will transition to a flood to a hurricane where even sieges will barely slow them down. Now many zergers don't even carry siege and instead kind of mess around plinking shots at people on the wall with their back bar weapon. This allows a coordinated yet outnumbered defense to truly do some serious damage and even halt the Zerg through coordinated siege fire. Come this wall climbing becoming mainstream you'll simply have 3/4 the Zerg charge on up the wall while the remaining 1/4 who use siege knock the outter wall down.

So really I can deal with either/or, I would just like a stand on the issue or a fix to it personally.

What is the point of having siege weapons when players can just jump up onto the keep wall?
Also why play when you revive at a keep that it not under attack and get killed instantly because its full of nightblades who jumped over the wall?

And yet, I remember, when NBs could ninja-climb on the front walls, ZOS & community reaction was immediate. Even though it was much more logical to climb a short wall than to fly tens of meters high...

For boring deathmatchs you still have the rest of Cyrodiil and other games, you are ruining what makes this pvp special. I say it as someone that was there when many on my faction did this in front of me, way to spoil the fun in taking keeps.

Part of the problem right now is that players are able to use these gap closers on guards, allowing them to get into keeps without the keep ever being flagged.

All of them except for Fiery Grip.

With Grip you can pull everyone outside that is inside the flagroom.

    Just kidding. ;-)
