Yes
I need 72 alloys every time I want to change the style
Farming I may get 1-2 a day & most guild traders dont have any on xbox. For a new set with different traits/set bonuses I dont mind having to use them but not for style changes.
DC DK Pure Tank that can dps.

I also think it sucks that we get cool/awesome loot, but then have to make the decision on whether to use it despite it looking horrible (or not matching your personal look), or not using it and going with crafted instead. I always thought the real reason for having a robust crafting system was to have the option to pick your own setup stat-wise, but, apparently in ESO, it's very much about gear style choice as well...
Another problem is that when you make a really good gear set, but a DLC drops with a new Motif/Style... Gotta make new gear to use that style. Would be much more cool to be able to just change styles to any that you know and have the style item for.
Yes. Especially since some styles are bugged on female models and you can't always tell which ones until after you craft them.

May they be free from suffering
May they find the joy that has never known suffering
May they be free from attachment and hatred
Nope easy enough to craft some 140 gear to see what it looks like b4 u use the 160 mats also there is a preview in the crown store these days also easy enough to look it up on Google what the style looks like.

What about dropped gear?
For example, I'd really like to transform my spc set to Abah's watch style. I have the style on my crafter but cannot use it because I would gimp my team without that set.

tl:dr I can't possibly see a negative to this. I think it would increase the demand for style mats and motifs for people to sell. If they get too expensive, great I can buy crown mimic stones and/or the motif I want. It's a WIN WIN..
Me blabbering on:
This would be exactly what I would do each time I get a drop, first thing I would do is change the appearance to a known style that character know, say Mercenary. Now charge me a Laurel.....and let's say I don't have the gold, well I can just buy some mimic stones from the crown store.
I spent time getting Caldwell's Silver for the motif and bought some other motifs. And now, if I upgrade my gear with the look I want, I won't do dungeons since I will not use any rewards. And honestly why deal with the hassle as a tank for a reward I don't care about.
But if I don't upgrade the gear via crafting, then I'm stuck looking at something I don't like. I already bought the costumes I like and I'm kinda bored of them. I want to use the motifs I specifically went for. Now it seems like it's only my alts that get to use the motifs.
So I've only done one dungeon since hitting 160 on my one lvl 50. And only log on to that guy to do crafting writs. I still need to finish the DLC's so I will still do that....but after?????
I do have one more alt that I'm getting close to hitting 50, but once that guy hits 50 I will probably park him as well and do crafting writs. And not entirely sure if I want to level up another char after this.
Applying the look of an equipment to another would be a very welcome addition.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.
Meet my characters:
Command: Do the thing.
Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded. Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way. Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing. Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe. Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources. Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources". Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me. Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear. Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem. Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.
Love my Viper set effects, do not love Argonian style medium armor :'(
