Daily DB Quest with extra objective "Kill XXX with poison"

Wasn't sure where to post this and I am getting frustrated with trying to complete the objectives that require you to kill with poison. Am I just missing something or am I supposed to equip a weapon with poison to kill someone with? Is there a way to guarantee it will work when you attack with your weapon once equipped? Will this work with a staff? Or is there some setup near each target that allows for you to poison a drink or something?

equip poison on your weapon, have your weapon in your hand while sneaking up behind target(not on your back) when you activate blade of woe, counts as poison kill. works for me at least.

The Place by Tony Walsh Please Read
This is the place in the North West of England

It’s ace, it’s the best and the songs that we sing

From the stands, from our bands set the whole planet shaking

Our inventions are legends! There’s nowt we can’t make and

So we make brilliant music. We make brilliant bands

We make goals that make souls leap from seats in the stands

And we make things from steel and we make things from cotton

And we make people laugh, take the mick summat rotten

And we make you at home and we make you feel welcome

And we make summat happen, we can’t seem to help it

And if you’re looking for history then yes, we’ve a wealth

But the Manchester way is to make it yourself

And make us a record, a new number one

And make us a brew while you’re up, love. Go on!

And make us feel proud that you’re winning the league

And make us sing louder and make us believe it

that this is the place that has helped shape the world

And that this the place where a Manchester girl

Name of Emmeline Pankhurst from the streets of Moss Side

Led a Suffragette City with sisterhood pride

And this is the place with appliance of science

We’re on it, atomic, we strut with defiance

In the face of a challenge we always stand tall

Mancunians in union delivered it all

Such as housing and libraries, and health, education

And unions and co-ops, the first railway station

So we’re sorry! Bear with us! We invented commuters!

But we hope you forgive us – we invented computers!

And this is the place Henry Royce strolled with Rolls

And we’ve rocked and we’ve rolled with our own Northern Soul

And so this is the place to do business, then dance

Where go-getters and goal setters know they’ve a chance

And this is the place where we first played as kids

And me Mam lived and died here, she loved it she did

And this is the place where our folks came to work

Where they struggled in puddles, they hurt in the dirt

And they built us a city. They built us these towns

And they coughed on the cobbles to the deafening sound

Of the steaming machines and the screaming of slaves

They were scheming for greatness, they dreamed to their graves

And they left us a spirit, they left us a vibe

The Mancunian Way to survive and to thrive

And to work and to build, to connect and create and

Greater Manchester’s greatness is keeping it great

And so this is the place now we’ve kids of our own

Some are born here, some drawn here but we all call it home

And they’ve covered the cobbles, but they’ll never defeat

All the dreamers and schemers who still teem through these streets

Because this is a place that has been through some hard times

Oppressions, recessions, depressions and dark times

But we keep fighting back with Greater Manchester spirit

Northern grit, northern wit in Greater Manchester’s lyrics

And there’s hard times again in these streets of our city

But we won’t take defeat and we don’t want your pity

Because this a place where we stand strong together

With a smile on our face, Mancunians Forever

And we’ve got this* as the place where a team with a dream (*Forever Manchester)

Can get funding and something to help with their scheme

Because this is the place that understands your grand plans

We don’t do No Can Do, we just stress Yes We Can!

Forever Manchester’s a charity for people round ‘ere

You can fundraise, donate. You can be a volunteer

You can live local, give local. We can honestly say

We do charity differently, that Mancunian Way

And we fund local kids, and we fund local teams

We support local dreamers to work for their dreams

We support local groups and the great work they do

So can you …help us help… local people like you?

Because this is the place in our hearts, in our homes

Because this is the place that’s a part of our bones

‘Cos Greater Manchester gives us such strength from the fact

That this is the place. We should give something back.

Always remember. Never forget. Forever Manchester.

    Craftycarper is right.
But be cautious : if you have a poison on your active bar, you won't be able to complete a "kill with the blade of woe" objective, you need a bar without poison equipped.

Indeed, as has been said... when asked for a poison kill, slot a poison and then use blade of woe to kill your mark, when asked for a BoW kill, make sure you have your poison put away. Easy enough once you realize the former ;)

I just wish BoW kills with poison equipped had a different cutscene... like, not the "going stabby" on them, but one quick stab, then watching the poison take effect and the target stumble around getting paralyzed, drop to the ground in agony, bleed from the eyes or whatever as the poison does its work...
    ...but I guess that's me.

You can also just kill people with the usual poison damage avaliable without the blade of woe.
Simplest choice is probably lethal arrow.

Actually you can equip poison in both poison slots and use the blade of woe. It counts as this is what I do and it works. Just be sure to kill / complete your secondary target / objective first as once you kill or complete the primary target the timer will start for you to escape.

Thanks for all the info... I just wasn't sure why it wasn't working for me. I am a templar so unless any of their skills cause poison damage I think I am alright. And yeah I figured out about the secondary objectives needing to be done first before killing the main target. Again thanks guys... seriously appreciate the help.

I always use poison injection from the bow skill line. Good to know Blade of Woe can be poisoned, though!

I don't this this is accurate. I never had a "kill with the blade of woe" objective fail and I have poisons equipped on both bars at all times. Might want to report it as a bug, since it might be something very specific like a certain target or a certain kind of potion making the objective fail.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.
