Hi everyone, please remember to keep threads on topic. This thread was put together to discuss barber shops and housing, if you want to suggest other features you're interested in a thread specific to those topics (or about general expectations) would be a better location.

Here i was, getting my hopes up, thinking we might have gotten some kind of answer, but of course, it's this...
I should've learned by now not to hope for an answer.
Seriously, could we get some kind of indicator to indicate if a dev comment is an answer or a reminder to keep things civil.

Also, this thread wasn't made to DISCUSS barber shop.
It was made to GET ANSWERS about barber shop from you guys.

I already said this on other threads and I know I'm repeating myself (no, it is not about black-haired Altmer again!), but how comes we are getting barbershop in two months and we have NO DETAILS WHATSOEVER on it? I mean, it should be on PTS next month, right? Maybe it isn't going on the PTS at all? How comes we found out about it in an ING article instead of through an official announcement? What is going on? D:
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

Screw the housing and barber shop until ZOS fixes the lag. People who keep demanding new features is the reason why ZOS is spending less resources fixing the lag.

Barber shop and housing will take 2-3 years for them to implemented but don't expect it to be cheap!

While I agree that lag issues, performance issues should be addressed first. Bugs that keep champion points from being utilized or active at all, skills not going off, glitchy animations that end up canceling your skill like devour (even the "use blade of woe" has randomly canceled on me when I was perfectly behind someone on level ground). I agree that these issues should be addressed first before adding new content, however, I would like to request something for housing whenever it comes out.
For those of us with lots of pets, mounts, costumes etc...it would be cool if inside ones home and/or out in the little backyard you have a place where your pets randomly mingle, a stable where you see the mounts you have chilling and maybe some mannequins that display your costumes. Now I understand that ppl have TONS of mounts/pets/costumes, so maybe on 4-5 are milling around or on display at a time and it switches randomly between all the the mounts/pets/costumes you have either everyday or everytime you enter your home. I think that would be kinda a cool feature. :D

^ That kind of crap is the single most annoying thing about ESO forums.
You see a thread asking Zos to talk about a much-requested feature and there's the Z icon so a staff member has said something! ....... about keeping the thread on topic.

What they should do is nothing that you ask for in OP, what they do need to do is fixing bugs, fixing broken classes etc. Not those unimportant things you ask for.

I'll say the same thing I always say to people like you:
1 - If we are going to wait until they fix everything in the game before getting new stuff, we will never get anything new again. I was here during the Great Pre-Console Content Drought, and it wasn't pretty.
2 - What you consider unimportant might be a game-breaker to someone else, just like what you consider important might be unimportant to others. Lots of people do not even experience any game-breaking bugs throughout their playthrough, and many more do not do pvp or any sort of endgame content at all so class imbalance do not affect them either. Try to keep that in mind before hijacking threads about incoming features.

I've been here since beta, and the game is at an all time worst atm when it comes to bugs and that needs to be fixed. Don't need to tell me about how horrible it was without any new content for over a year, I know how it was but I'd rather see them fix actual bugs than putting in a new hair that does literally nothing.

I understand, and that is fine. But consider that not everybody thinks like you, and how there are already dozens of threads about things that need to be fixed in this game, so no need to hijack a thread that is not following the trend. Complaining that not everyone is complaining about the same stuff you are is like complaining that someone could be helping orphaned children instead of volunteering on an animal shelter and helping cats and dogs instead.

I am here since beta too, but I disagree that this game is at an all-time worst when it comes to bugs: First month after release was much worse, and first week after Thieves Guild was also worse than it is right now. At least on my experience, because the game wouldn't stop crashing and I actually encountered bugs that stopped me from progressing, unlike now. And that is the thing, everybody's experience is different, and that is why we don't all complain about the same things.

In fact, if we wait for one thing to be fixed before we start complaining about the next instead of pointing out every areas that need attention, taking into consideration the time it takes for ZOS to implement any requested feature, we would be waiting for much longer and the game would never move forwards.

And don't forget that people stop playing because they don't like how their character look like but don't want to waste time rerolling. This is an actual issue for many people. You might think that it is just "a new hair that does literally nothing", but the inability to change your character's appearance might actually make people not want to play that character anymore. I'm sure many people here will love to tell you how they can't stand looking at one of their characters anymore, and because of that they are shelved until the Barbershop comes out. Myself, I hate the color of my main character's hair, so I use hats and hoods at all times and that does it for me, but I understand that isn't enough to many people.

Alright, but I'm still confused as to why you are here saying that what OP wants (and that is confirmed that will be added eventually) shouldn't be added "because there are bugs" instead of on one of the numerous threads about these bugs. If you recognize that this feature is important to other people, why saying it shouldn't be added?

We are not even requesting these features to be added, since they are confirmed features. We want details.

I just gotta say... we better not get a "barbershop" DLC. It needs to be part of the base patch of whatever DLC it comes with.
What ESO really needs is an Auction Horse.
    That's right... Horse.

We are not even requesting these features to be added, since they are confirmed features. We want details.

I'd rather they delay any dlc they got coming atm and fix the current bugs instead of introducing more bugs and not fixing old ones. If the game survived a year of no new content it can survive 6 months.

I know some people do think a barbershop etc would be the best thing since the release of the game for them, but for a lot of people I know it's just not worth it and they have quit playing because of numerous bugs, complete slaughter of some classes patch after patch etc.

I've quit playing mostly except feeding horses and getting hirelings since I've seen ZoS for what they are. A money hungry short term company that'll abandon the game the moment they feel they've milked it enough.

I would be more inclined to agree if we just got a Wrothgar-sized DLC. But we didn't, we got two really tiny DLCs, and this time we won't have a big release on another platform to save the game after a content drought. While it is unreasonable to expect devs to put out content nearly as fast as players can burn through it, I'm speaking as someone that plays this game for the story and who takes her time to enjoy it; we didn't get a lot of content this year so far and we didn't progress much on the main plot that the end of Orsinium's quest line suggested we were getting into.

I don't think we should consider a barbershop as "DLC", as it is something that I think most people agree should be in the game from the start. It is a base feature that should be seen more like a patch addition than as a DLC. Except, of course, if they incorporate it to a DLC in some way (like making it a service offered by a single NPC only present in a DLC map), but we don't even know how it will be implemented because we have no details on it yet - which is precisely what this thread is after. The Argonian Dungeons that will be released in August too can be considered DLC, though.

My guess? As the IGN's interview with Matt says, the barbershop will be released next August. We will get it as a Crown Store addition with not a lot of fuss around it.

Please people, big fixing and new content are worked on by different teams, working on one does not mean not workin on the other one. I hope we get bugs fixed, but I also want to get the things we have been asking for a long time, such as the barber shop. Stop asking for the devs to not have new content and only focus on bug fixing because that will not happen.

Okay this is really neat BUT.... for the love of all that is holy PLEASE remove that horrible BALL from the top of that hairstyle in back. If this is the cream of the crop of what we'll be getting with the barbershop... I am aghast. MORE PICS OF THE NEW HAIRSTYLES SOON PLEASE!!!
