Unsubscribed after first year reward. I decided to chance that Zeni couldn't crank out new content fast enough and that I would end up saving money in the long run.

It's kind of a bust so far. I've dropped money on all DLCs plus merchant, banker, and a few odds and ends at the crown store. Crafting bags were tempting, but with merchant and banker, I manage. Not planning on subbing again, but do plan on buying new content as it rolls out.

My thinking was that if I ever decide I don't wan to spend money on the game I'll at least have what I have instead of going back to nothing. It would be more difficult to do this if you were new to the game though. If I was just coming in, I'd probably subscribe and not give it much thought.

Please don't derail this thread from the reasons people are closing subs.

I want ZOS to see the reasons people no longer feel they want to subscribe rather than just another locked thread on the same issues. We can all make our snide comments once they open the old one or make a new one.

I stopped subbing as it felt like there was little real benefit to it - then came crafting bags! We will see how much I can stuff in there in the next three months and whether I will keep it up the sub after that.

Unsubbed after 77 vMA runs without a single Maelstrom Inferno Staff (including weeklies). Decided to quit after 201 vMA runs without a single Maelstrom Inferno Staff. My 201st run, 1st after DB launch, dropped me a Ring of Glory. Even though I would've liked to see the DB content, I couldn't live with myself paying for the DLC; this game has treated me like ***.

As I heard later from others, they didn't increase the weapon drop chances, but polluted the loot table with *** traits, so that getting a sharpened or precise weapon of your desire is even less likely. Some people have still not given up after 600+ vMA runs. Recently, one of them got 6 Rings of Glory in a row.

No regrets. Playing Black Desert now and casually checking the ESO forums, since I do miss the community a little. Maybe I'll come back once ZOS starts rewarding instead of punishing effort and skills, even though there was a huge PTS thread on that topic and @ZOS_Finn decided to ignore it. But I'm sure ZOS is busy enough with the hacking situation. For now, Black Desert and ESO are like heaven and hell. There's not a single aspect where ESO would have the upper hand except the friends I've made here that didn't come with me to Black Desert.

I canceled my sub too. Zeni dosn't know what is doing! Bugs, conflicts, LAG, exploits, hacks.....and they change skills, nerfing and buffing like we play open BETA! They game right now its broken!
I wont resub again unless they hire some people that they really play the game and know what they are doing!

    My top 3 reasons:

    1. Once it became clear they're unaware of how to optimize their game. You can't blame end user hardware forever.
    2. Turn around time on issues. There are an infinite amount of examples for this.
    3. Lack of support for PvP as a whole. We need serious fixes, not 1-3 incremental non-noted back-end we'll never see the difference in performance changes per quarter.

One of the biggest things that I think about constantly is the potential this game has and how much of it is wasted due to poor development/management. This could be such an amazing game, I just don't have a decade to wait for them to figure out things that should have been figured out by launch.

People also talk about how they should take a lesson from this game or that, for ESO to be more like those games.

"Featuring three-sided Player vs. Player (PvP) gameplay, The Elder Scrolls Online supports hundreds of players on screen at once in an open world fight for control of Cyrodiil. Seize, hold, and control the resources of massive strongholds. Utilize massive siege weapons to crumble fortress walls and smash through fortified gates. Conquer the Imperial City, and your alliance's top player could even be crowned Emperor!"

Wonder why people are still miffed over PvP being such a ***-hole?

Excuse me ? Most of the original closed beta testers I came over with were asked specifically to test PvP as hard as we could . Server stress tests for weeks with enthusiastic dev responses on the old Bethesda forums about how this is going to be the most massive scale PvP in a MMO ever created .

We were sold on PvP with highlight videos and huge servers to support hundreds at a time . Everything in your post is completely false information .

You realize the game was marketed like crazy for PVP before it was launched. That is why many people bought the game. It was suppose to have huge PVP elements in it. That is why even in PVE areas you get PVP notifications.

It's just too much for me. We have
    - devs / mods lying to us (or changing their mind quite frequently)
    - how exploits / cheaters are dealt with
    - dumbed down content
    - lag / bad game performance

and now Matt Firor tells us that he can't see people playing this game for 6 months, so if I've been invisable for the last 2 years, why should I continue to support the game. But at least this explains why there was no reaction to many of my bug reports.

    Pretty much this^^^

I have played this game pretty much every day since launch. ZOS won't mis me, but perhaps they will miss the roughly $300/ per year I have given them in subscriptions and crown store fluff I have purchased.

I feel a bit stupid caring as much as I do about a game who's creator cares so little about it's customer base. It's a shame really because this game could have had legs.
