How many maelstrom attempts have you done?

Just curious, how many maelstrom attempts have you done and still don't have the weapon that you want?

I'm around 50 runs and no sharpened 2H

But at least I have a sharpened resto staff, powered destro staff, a charged axe, defending dagger, and many more

I love doing vet maelstrom over and over again

I'm losing my mind

Well over 100 for an Inferno staff of any kind... Make that, for a destruction staff of any kind rather. And have I ever received 1...? NOPE! Took me over 90 runs for my first staff to appear (sharpened restoration), and not too long after in the early 100's, I received a precise restoration staff. I have every single other Maelstrom weapon that appears outside of destruction staves (I don't have any) in all the traits they dropped in pre-DB.

Two tries at normal level made it through on the 2nd. One try on vet mode. Did the first wave (didn't even get to boss) of the first battle and said to hell with it. I could tell from that small bit of fighting if I did somehow make it through (extremely doubtful) it was going to take a few hours and a huge ole stack of soul gems. I'm mostly built for healing though so wasn't expecting to make it anyway.

I decided running around ripping the wings off of butterflies and killing squirrels would be a more profitable and fun experience.

I keep getting destro staves. Done this 8 times I think and have 2 fire (sharpened/charged) and one ice (defending) and one mace.

Really wishing for bow and resto staff but I can't honestly say I have got bad RNG from 8 runs so far

I guess I'm lucky, since I got my first sharpened dagger at, like, the 2nd run.

Then the first weekly reward I get is... another sharpened dagger.

Then the weekly reward after this one is... Yet another sharpened dagger.

Also got a Sharpened inferno staff pretty quickly.

And a Defending bow, followed, 2 runs later by a sharpened one.

"/zone WTS vMA sharp dagger 500,000g"

RNGesus will not give me the helmets and shoulders I want. But vMA stuff? "Here you go, have plenty of it".

@Asmael I've run vMA an insane amount of times.... Have nearly everything I want.... yet any type of axe or dagger still eludes me.

@Doncellius Those were the first 2 Maelstrom Weapon types I ever received. I kid you not. My first ever Maelstrom Weapon was a sharpened dagger, and then a defending axe was the second. Lol.

My third was a sharpened greatsword, followed by a sharpened bow. Then I think the 5th was a precise bow, and I don't remember after that. I just remember tons of stamina-based weapons I did not want. I also feel bad now, because I've deconstructed like 6 or 8 daggers. Lol.

I *** stopped doing this crap a week before DB; I ended up with 0 staves, and 0 daggers. I don't remember how many I've done. and like hell I'll be doing this crap with these *** traits.

The very first weapon I knew I wanted was a sharpened 2h maul and I got it on my second try. The next thing I wanted was a precise bow to complete my build and I got it on my 4th try

51 runs with my magicka sorc and 0 2h maul, axe or sword or any stave
2 runs with my stamina dk and got 2h sharpened maul and sharpened ice stave

And i quit from that *** up rng place taking a break from it.
This was just before DB and now they put more useless traits in it...

Every-time I got a weapon in the chest. 2x 1h + shield. Destro Nirn fire staff, Resto Sharpened staff, 2h Maul with decisive from weekly.
I still want to get Sharpened Fire Destro. Don't really care about the trait on the resto though.

180+ runs before db , 0 sharp 2h weapons.. now after db i only did about 6 runs and didnt get a single weapon.. im going to do some runs tomorrow or later today but with the new traits added im pretty sure i wont get ***

This is why I'm not interested in running it repeatedly. I lose time, I lose gold, and I lose potions and get nothing for it.

If I run any dungeon or Trial in this game I should at least walk away with more gold than I started with, and that includes covering the pots I consumed to finish it. I shouldn't be worse off then when I started just because of RNG.

Sharpened maul in 1st run, resto 2nd...50 runs later it drops a dagger the tons of S&B. Lost count how many times I've done it but never an inferno. Got the ice from a weekly. Got everything now except a 2nd dagger and inferno.

Still missing a few drops but I have what I need. A couple of us have a running theory that whatever your max stat is factors into the drop :P Run it with a Magicka char and you'll get 2h/1h for days, vice versa for staves. Probably all bologna though :P

Exactly 201 runs.

No Sharpened Inferno (no Inferno at all), no Sharpened Maul, no Sharpened Bow, no Precise Resto.

I uninstalled after the first run post DB launch dropped me a Ring of Glory. Playing Black Desert now. Much better loot system (and pretty much everything else).

Im at 12 runs done, defending 2H sword, shapened resto, defending ice staff. Ive lost too much time for this crap. With the new trait added I dont think i'll ever do vma again.

Edit : Just after writing this, ive think about the fact that I still had one last round left on one of my char. Im telling myself , ok lets finish that for the luck. Well I open the chest... Yeah a 2H Mace!!...open up my inventory... CHARGED !! Wth its even worse than defending...why would this trait even exist for vma weapons??? You already have the enchant 100% apply....

First clear took 500+ deaths and 12+ hours

Second clear took around 100 deaths and like 4 hours or something

Third took around 40-70 deaths and 2 hours

Fourth took 1 hour 40 mins with... I don't know how many deaths, but after the fourth, it seems to be around 1-2 hours depending on my focus and lag but I still die a lot due to being a Templar

the DB changes might make things more.. interesting, I've yet to try malestrom in the current patch.

Edit: To answer your question, I think it only took around 15 runs for 2 Maelstrom inferno staffs, bow, swords, axes, daggers, shields etc but no resto staff

they were mainly from the weekly rewards rather than the chest.

Did they buff the chest drop btw?
