I can be hidden for 5 whole minutes following someone with out no looking at me, but as soon as I use the blade of woe I'm detected? Wtf is this? Might as well just run around and blatantly kill cause it doesn't matter if you try to stealth or not. The devs did a good jump of making sure you get caught.

And yes, murdering someone should draw the attention from anyone close. Have a little patience, all the targets will eventually path to a spot where you can cut em down unnoticed.

I do wait. And I do let them walk their path til no one is around and or looking. And it still flags sometimes.
