Pre CU Jedi had perma death to worry about . CU didn't have FRS. THey took it out along with messing up pearl drops. That's why the BH's during this time sucked, they'd face a Pre-CU jedi with a maxed saber one out of every 20 or so bounties. Then scream hack because they never seen or don't see those damage numbers often. I got reported by BH's multiple times because they didn't understand a capped dam/speed saber."Fight Clubbing?" What a wonderful attempt to give a nice name to being a sleaze bag cheater. Scumming might be a better word for it, don't you think?
It's what it's been called for just about 10-15 years. If this name was used prior to SWG I don't know, but it's what we called it.
In fact, the FRS came with the village, a patch or 2 just before the CU. That's why SWGEMU will have the village/FRS in the system under patch 14.1, the patch just before CU. I ran a server and most of it has been coded already. Just needed to be turned on. FRS existed a bit into the CU as well, before they just gave up on the concept (in part due to fight-clubbing) and I well remember the pearl drop problems. Or how about the ability to farm the village quests for elder crystal after elder crystal? The day the game ended, I still had 2 Untuned (they actualy had u tune them in NGE) as deco in my bunker.
Nice to see another old SWG vet over here. With as many threads on the nerfs that came with the last patch (here), these guys would of gone into convulsions if they ever seen a CU, NGE, or C6CD. lol
To be more accurate, the FRS system wasn't removed, it wasn't achievable. only Jedi that did the Knight trials before CU where able to participate in the FRS system. CU removed the knight trials so no new Jedi could join it and since most of the vet Jedi quit when CU hit that pretty much killed FRS. Not that it was all that great to begin with. And I believe the FRS was put in with Patch 9 which was the Jedi Revamp, Patch 10 was the Jedi unlock revamp, aka The Village patch.
That may be where I didn't feel the difference. My jedi was pre-patch 9 so the FRS was still available until way into the CU (way into, the CU only laster 6 months until the NGE /scarcasm). Patch 9 is still a very sore spot with NERF WARS finishing off my jedi, and CU taking out saber damage.
That's because BH's cried about not being able to solo Jedi. So they nerfed a lot of the defenses Jedi had and then removed some BH restrictions so you ended up fighting BH/CM's instead of actual BH's. Still never lost to those because pre-cu pearls /flex. Still kinda funny that the CSR's knew who I was and would come talk to me when they had to "watch" me for suspicious game play because I hurt another BH's feelings.0
