One Tamriel is great for people who care about grouping in various zones. I don't. I find grouping in quests distracting.

If they haven't announced more DLC by now, I'm skeptical there will be any Q3. That is a major fail. Emphasizes how sketchy subbing is as new content isn't even guaranteed. But there are still 4 months before Q3 ends.

Wait. Does it mean you can explore everything like if you were lvl 50 but from the start, or does it mean that we are playing with other alliances too? Or both? I'm sorry, English is not my first language and I didn't understand it fully.

No level restrictions on content. Means once you leave the tutorial zone and get into Tamriel you can go anywhere you want that used to be blocked off till you reached a certain level. You're still in your faction's own instance.

Oh alright thank you very much! I like this change!

I was expecting a first look on the barbershop, though.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
Ellaria Valerius, Imperial priestess: I'll pray to the Eight for the thing to be done, if it is Their will.

I am honestly curious why they felt the need to be so late in the evening considering theyre on the West Coast on a Sunday.

I mean, since it is at E3 they probably didn't have complete control over when they could do it. Its not like they had a decision to do the stream whenever they want, they have other schedules to work around...

E3 hasnt actually officially started until tomorrow. Both EA and Bethesda decided to make their announcements a day earlier than everyone else.

No. Your character still has a level. The zones just scale you to be able to do the content.

This will help with the issue of people being outleveled for Cadwell's Silver when VR was dropped.

Why do you think they just had a massive sale on the base game? I would wager that sometime next year the game goes free to play.

Subbing is worthwhile at this point, with all the DLC stuff and the crafting bag. I'll be honest... just the crafting bag is enough to make me sub. Hopefully they start making more and investing more back into the game.

They gave very few details on it. Sounds to me like everyone will be battled leveled to the level of the zone they're in. Or all zones will be the same level and everybody will be battle leveled to that level. Something like that.

I don't remember seeing anything that suggested everything will be cross faction, but I could've missed it. Would make a lot of sense given the name "One Tamriel".

Now the real question becomes, is this where they've decided they're giving up on PVP and turning Cyrodiil into a strictly PVE zone?

One Tamriel was really needed due to TG and DB dailies. If they want to send people to various zones to do dailies, people need to not get one-shotted. That means scaling.

"Worthwhile" is a subjective term. I can say it isn't and you can say that it is and we are both correct.

But skipping quarters means that you essentially payed 6 months of sub for DB. It means that buying DLC is and even better deal than subbing than it was before. The crafting bags are amazing, but I'm not going to pay an extra $100 a year for the sake of inventory management. That is not worthwhile for me.

I also don't think ZOS has earned the money I would pay subbing through months without new DLC. That is why I will only sub in months where new DLC drops.

    http://www.elderscrollsonline.com/en-us/news/post/2016/06/12/matt-firors-message-from-be3

With One Tamriel, we are opening up the entire playable world to everyone, no matter their level. This is a pretty big deal. One Tamriel makes the game much more grouping and social-friendly, as the player base will no longer be divided into thirds and also won't be divided by player level. The reasons we are doing this are simple: we want to make it easier for ESO players to group together, and to promote the sense of freedom to explore that Elder Scrolls games are known for. In other words, we're bringing the same auto-leveling system (called “battle leveling") that has been so successful in our DLCs to the entire game.

    Here are the basics:

Characters will have their level scaled the same way that we currently scale players to the level of DLC zones (Imperial City, Orsinium, Thieves Guild, and Dark Brotherhood).
You will be able to explore the entire world in any sequence you wish - just walk across the world and you will always find appropriately leveled content.
You will be able to play and group with anyone in the game at any time (outside of PvP). No longer will you have to create a lower level character to play with a friend who has just joined the game. You will be able to group and adventure together from the moment your friend emerges from the tutorial.
We are dropping all PvE Alliance restrictions. You will be free to explore of all Tamriel, including other Alliances. It is up to you how you want to role-play your character while doing this. “Silver" and “gold" versions of zones will be replaced by Cadwell quest storylines that you can do in any order you wish.
Alliance restrictions will still be enforced in all PvP areas, of course. One Tamriel will not affect the PvP systems in Cyrodiil.
In general, higher level players will be the same “level" as lower level players, but they will have far more tools in their arsenal: better gear, more abilities, and of course more Champion points.
We will adjust gear rewards to scale appropriately to make sure that there is always a way to get more powerful via crafting, questing, PvP, and dungeon/trial boss loot drops.
All Trials and Dungeons will continue with standard and Veteran difficulty modes, and you will have to be Veteran level to play veteran dungeon modes.
The Coldharbour zone will be “roped off" from players who have not yet completed the quests that lead there. However, if you are invited to a group that is already there, or travel to a friend who is there, you can immediately access the zone.

We're really proud of the changes, updates, and content we've added to The Elder Scrolls Online over the last year plus, and to be able to welcome millions of new players to Tamriel has been incredibly rewarding and makes the game that much better. We're thankful for all of you for playing and helping us make ESO better every day.

We will have much more information about upcoming updates and One Tamriel over the course of the summer and into the fall. Please stay tuned for more details, and until then, see you in Tamriel!

    Matt

What are you afraid of ZoS? You made Firor fly all the way there just to announce this #OneTamriel in under 3 minutes and show a trailer for a DLC that has been released on PC for weeks now and about to be released on console instead of actually showing things to get people excited? I was expecting to see the future DLCs for this year not this thing you showed about saying you had a great year, we have heard that a million times no need to repeat it like a broken record show new things and get people to love the game instead of hating it.

Relax, we're not even out of Q2 yet. They have until the end of September, meaning it doesn't even have to hit PTS until August. Ever since they'd announced that they would release a new DLC every quarter, they've released a new DLC every quarter, there's really no reason to believe they aren't going to. They could probably wait until QuakeCon to announce it if they wanted to. In the past they've typically announced the next DLC about a month before its release, I wouldn't be surprised to see the same this time.

Yes, they have delivered every quarter. But we also knew well in advance what was coming each quarter. We already knew DB would follow TG before TG came out because they told us about changes that would arrive with DB.

Well. Guess there's not that much for us to discuss in the end. lol One Tamriel, go anywhere whenever you want. Aaand that's it. That doesn't really pertain to me personally since I tend to follow along with the story progression. But there's also one single thing that isn't necessarily related to ESO itself, but the Livestream chat was erupting with it.

Will One Tamriel mean that my cp160+ characters will get cp160 gear in treasure map chests in every zone? Or will gear still be low level in low level zones? The same question applies to recipes and motifs, though these would be better left as is while gear would be better scaled.

Pretty disappointed. Nothing all that exciting at all. Although I will admit it is sort of funny, when the game launched it seemed almost a foreign concept to the developers that people might actually want to play together. A mere two years later and the major announcement at a gaming convention is oh look you can play together.
