Is there a max number of weapon masteries that you can have?

So, I want to play a healer, and I am wondering if it would just be better to use the best damage weapons to level with and worry about my stave proficiency at a later date or if there is a max number of weapons that you can be proficient in?

    Six.

Also, you can only skill up in three armor types.

You can max out everything available so you may do so at your own pace :)

If I'd known no one would weigh in, I wouldn't have been quite so glib.

You can level up as many skill lines, or skills as you want. Even ones that directly conflict with each other, like Werewolf and Vampire. You can max out everything, given enough time.

What you can't do is have all the skills simultaneously. There aren't quite enough skill points to go around.

So you can raise all six weapon skill lines to 50, you can take every morph to 4. But, you probably won't have enough skill points to pay for all of that. So you'll want to specialize down what you've actually purchased.

You can always respec later, and get those skill points back, though this isn't cheap.

If you want to try a new weapon, just try it. There's no harm in it. Any XP you earn for it will remain yours to keep. You can always earn more experience.
