Molag Kena Overkill costs

Once you activate Overkill using Molag Kena, your abilities cost 33% more. i assume this does not mean the cost of blocking right? I was also wondering if it means 33% from their original value or is it 33% of the value after cost reduction enchantments, champion point passives etc are applied. Because if it is the second bit then the stars for reducing cost will help out a lot in mitigating this increase and will of course mean that you have to find a balance between the regen stars and the reduce cost stars

Any insights in this matter would be appreciated

I believe it goes up 33% after your enchants and passives are applied. I could be wrong, but I'm fairly certain I've seen my ult jump that much. Since I have CP in reduced cost, it would have jumped by less if it accounted for that.

Meaning, wherever your numbers are now, it will work off that.

While I don't about blocking, I can answer your other question though.

33% cost increase is on the original cost not the current cost.

It seems like it increases dodge roll and ultimates (expected) but I still don't know about block. And Are you sure on the 33% increase on the original cost? It seems counterintuitive

It is. All cost reductions and cost increases work on the base value to calculate the final value, rather than prioritising an order.

yes. anything that has a cost. stam, magica, ulti, cost more.

Why would it base it off the original non champion point alerted cost though? That seems very backwards. Anyone with both able to test with pictures or video proof?

IMHO even with reduction from the original 50% increase down to 33% it's still too much for current end game content (namely WGT, ICP and MoL).

The armor of mobs are very thick and with the brutal nerf to the Nirnhoned trait, kind of forcing most of us to use Sharpened or Precise (like for those who really commits to farm ICP for Scathing Mage), 33% eats resources too quickly, especially for magicka Sorcerers and DKs that, apparently, can't enjoy the benefits of Arcane Well CP passive because we usually attack from too far from the big mobs.

And, speaking personally, as I use Orzorga's Red Frothgar instead of a Max Health/Max Magicka food to favor regen, and weaving not very often because animation prioritization is slowing the gameplay badly, I just can't keep Overkill up all the time or at least as much as I'd like.

In MoL, meh, even worse to keep the effect up.

DoT effects check your character stat sheet for each tick(part of the lag issue imho), this means buffing after applying the DoT will still buff DoT damage that occurs after you buff. Most dots are 8-10seconds, Kena buff is 6s, meaning you can DoT target proc Kena, and heavy attack weave and refresh. Not as effective for single target, however meteor+caltrops+arrow barrage(or whatever placeable aoe skill you use) then proc kena, Kena will buff the majority of the time they are up outside of caltrops and you will see the numbers shoot up.

I've been using for various dungeons and for nMoL and while I can sometimes feel the drain in magicka it doesn't really last long as most mobs melt away. But I have considered switching one piece to Torug's pact to gain the permanent spell damage instead.

Blocking while Kena is activated can occur if your tank loses taunt or you suddenly get a wave of mobs. If dodge roll is affected I am pretty sure block must take a 33% increase as well

Magicka Sorcerer but I am not a power player, when I say melt away, I generally mean they die fast enough so that I don't have issues. I haven't done vMA though and that perhaps is gonna be a different issue

Wow this set is complete hinderance for a meager improvement, if it affects dodge and everything else it seems poorly designed.

I expected magicka cost only when it came to damage or healing abilities.

so then dont use it. I use it on ,y stamplar for trash/boss execute and hardly notice a difference. It's nice to stockpile ultimate with it as well. Oh well, maybe zenimax will refund your ap >.>

After the latest update when they increased cost of all abilities (despite patchnotes saying otherwise), kena isn't really an option for me.

Kena costs are fine. It actually makes it a choice between, ner/skoria/maw etc etc. If it was cheaper than 33%, kena would win in all situations... At least now, for long sustain fights, without a good healer who can sustain you, you actually need to NOT use kena. I only run kena when im doing a group/trial etc with my guild. If im in some random group trial, I stay far away from kena cos im going to run on empty...
