Question for hardcore Templar's

I am soon going to make an alt as a magic templar but am not sure of what armor to use. Considering there is a far bit of close quarter combat is it better to use heavy or do most of you use a mix of heavy and light or just light for the magic regen ? My main is a stam NB so it is medium for that since it also seems to work well up close and my other alt is a sorc so it is all light for distance fighting, just not sure how to go with the templar. Any advice will be good, cheers guys and gals.

I will give you great advice that will undoubtedly get shouted down by the masses.

Wear as much light armor as you can. Go all infused. No ... seriously. All magic enchants. The only armor you need is breath of life and your teammates to be meat shields. Use dark flare then radiant oppression. Be a god amongst mortals.

Magic regen is for the weak. Seriously. If you need to regen go hide in a corner. Melt everything.

    ^ What he said.

Also The Thief Mundus stone. Get your crit chance as high as you can as well as your Recovery. Mine's currently at 52%

For what it's worth I went with the extra Magic Mundus stone. As long as you're 40k+ Magic nothing else really matters.

One more thing. It's a game of rock, paper, scissors. The stereotypical wrecking blow spammer is this build's Kryptonite. How do you deal with a 1 on 1 close quarters fight?

    Don't get in one.

For what it's worth I use mist form to get out of dodge but there is no one great answer. If you want to shoot lasers with the best of them, this is the price you pay. It's a mediocre at best 1 on 1 set up. In a battle of 200, it's the best thing going.

    ---

"Pokey Sticks" is also a good way to handle it, but there are only so many ways to get insano Magic. I do it by slotting 3 Mage Guild abilities. "Stabby-Stabby" and that awesome javelin are the skills that get left out for me. Your mileage may vary.

Unless you're going full on resistance stacking, you won't notice much of a difference in heavy vs light when taking damage against Good players. Go 5 light 1 1 for undaunted if you have it though. Heavy will really hurt your damage a lot. Impen is better damage reduction than heavy in pvp.

As full dps your worst enemy is cc. Learn to avoid by recognizing skills.

It's cheaper to block a wb and then cc them so you can apply more pressure than it is to dodge roll or cc break. Blocking at the right time is OP.
