Open World Treasure Chests

Here are two ideas I've had that I think would be a great idea to spice up the treasure chests a little bit. Please add some more ideas if you feel like it.

1. The longer a chest remains locked the better the loot becomes. More gold, better quality weapons, maybe some raw materials/runes stashed inside.

2. Once a week, randomly generate one golden chest in each faction that is hidden. This would contain a gold item and a lot of gold. It would create a treasure hunt of sorts.

    I really like the idea of the chests being randomly generated. Would maps be generated too?

    Maps could work, sure. I think at a certain time the treasure hunt could be broadcasted across the faction, like a countdown or something, or maybe even a riddle with hints in it.

    Just make the loot a lot better or remove them entirely

    The chest would have to be in a completely new location where no chest has ever been and it needs to be absurdly hard to find. No quests can lead to it, only a true adventurer should find it.

    There should also be a title you receive once you find it. Which would make hunting competitive. The chest could be disguised as a regular old chest but once you click it, it transforms into a fancy chest.

    Overall i think its a neat idea.

    Any improvement to chests would be great. As it is now open world chests are bleh.

    Wait, this has already been in place for some time now. Am I really the only person who's found one so far?

    Too much...all that's needed is improved loot. No other changes
    Just do something like add a min motif of 30% on all chests. All motif by zone or something

    i tried to destroy my AD, DC and EP blue treasure packs that i got from preorder but i couldnt, ZOS forces me to go and open cehsts than contain garbage that i wont even take the time to deconstruct or sell but just destroy..

    The easiest way is to grab them out of the mail on an alt you don't care for, then delete the alt :)

    The problem isn't really the chests themselves it's the fact that what's in them doesn't have demand.

    With any given patch there are only a number of item sets worth having, generic loot is only worth it for breaking down for end game materials. They need to find a way to make all items have some level of worth again, which in a themepark MMO isn't going to happen.

    Yes, especially adding more XP towards getting CP. I normally get 1006 XP for each chest opened and go through hundreds of chests each time I'm online. So, the XP adds up quite a bit. That and the gold and loots you can sell to merchants. I'm a self-made millionaire on ESO. Lol! Also, the thieves troves offer good armor, weapon and gear set, now and then. I got my nightmother set from the troves.

    I dont think I personal would go and look for it tho. But maybe some random players who questing would find them.

    We understand all of that but what's inside is the discussion. Many of us have maxed exp for chest related things unless it's a newer alt

    Anyone that uses chests as a means to kevel the ledgerdemain skill line is insane

    Just do something like add a min motif of 30% on all chests. All motif by zone or something

    Loot is too everyday now.

    Nothing special in treasure chests to make them treasured. Right now its only for a few gold and deconning stuff.

    Make it better PLEASE.

    A title would be cool too, maybe a color, or maybe even put a color unlock randomly in these chests.

    A gold Item in every master chest would be nice. Scaling them would be nice Simple is green Item, Intermediate Blue, and so forth.

    I think you could put 1 and 2 together:
    If a chest remains locked/untouched long enough it turns into a 'golden chest'.
    If you can be anything, be kind.
