What is the state of Proximity Detonation in DB?

I noticed many builds were running it as a single target filler or so...how is it now and if it's in a bad place what has replaced it as a general or class skill?

Magicka Detonation: Reduced the damage of this ability and its morphs by 45%. They now deal 25% additional damage per target hit, up from 10%, and cap that bonus damage up to a total of 250% more damage done, up from 100% more damage done. The net result should be significantly less damage to 1 target, and slightly less damage to 10 targets.

It is still a good skill to kill ball group's (or players in general that are to close to each other), however like the quote say's, it will deal very low damage against one target. Hopefully this mean's i won't be getting hit for 5-6k magicka detonation's solo anymore. It's about time the skill was tweaked, it was performing way to well in small scale scenario's.

I'd really like to know what the tooltip damage is like on a magicka setup using the ability. If anyone on PC could help me out that would be great. What was the tooltip of your magicka detonation pre-DB and post-DB?

I'm console, but I can guess.

First thing is the Thaumaturge CP will no longer boost it. At approximately 3kish spell dmg and 36k magicka the tool tip says 12kish, so that would mean 2.4kish would come off... making it a 9.6kish, then the 45% reduction (because this is a base reduction and would happen here) 4320 then comes off leaving.. 5280 damage roughly (this would also include a 20% boost from elemental expert)

Just gonna throw that out there.

What replaced it as the single target filler nuke? Because every build, PvP or PvE was using it (just like trap beast). So what's the new spell?

Nothing replaced it for me. I had to totally learn a new way to play 1v1 as this was in my build since it came out for single target PVP fights. I'm messing with stamina now instead. RIP to my Magicka Sorc...
