Mighty is NA/PC's dueling guild.

New rules up for discussion, suggested to me by participants:

No Viper?
Flat damage sets like Viper perform better in no-CP environments than in CP campaigns. Is Viper burst too much?
No Velidreth?
Same logic, but Velidreth is easier to avoid. Thoughts?

When:
Saturday September 3, 2016
Time TBD, but will be mid afternoon EST. I will look to accommodate NA and Oceanic players, although there are many time zones looking to participate.

Azura's Star

Entry fees:
Because of scheduling complications, entry fees have been waived. Contact me in game if I failed to return your entry fee. I returned all mails and hadn't withdrawn any gold from any mails, but I want to be thorough.

The Rules:

No CP -- fights will occur on Azura's Star
No poisons
Do you really want to run into two people using this in a no-CP fight?
No Shield Breaker 5pc
Shield Breaker was added to the game to answer overperforming shields. It's also a pretty lazy "fix" to shields...let's be honest. Given the recent nerfs to shields and the fact that we're fighting without CP, this set is deemed unnecessarily powerful and will not be permitted.
No Malubeth 2pc
Was bugged and potentially fixed, but there have been reports of remaining bugs. See Azoi's thread in PTS. Also with the reduced healing in Azura's, the fact that this set stacks with Major Mending and Vitality will skew competition in favor of particular team comps.
No Fasalla's Guile 5pc
Fasalla's also stacks with other healing debuffs, similar to how Malubeth stacks with healing taken buffs. With healing already reduced by the lack of CP, such a large healing debuff will also become a necessity for competitive teams.
No immovability potions
Part of fighting competitively is learning how to manage resources and chain CCs to line up skillful kills. Immovability potions will not be permitted.

To join the guild:
Mighty is always accepting recruits. We have strict participation standards for maintaining membership, but all are welcome to join and participate. Our community is active, and we count many of the best players in the game among our ranks. The Dueler rank, at which point the tournament entry fee is waived, is achieved after attending 5 official dueling gatherings, and if Mighty members of Dueler rank or greater win the tournament, they will be crowned with the Champion guild rank. If you ban shieldbreaker, also ban malubeth.
Tho I don´t get why shieldbreaker is banned. Only useful against shield users and doesn´t even guarantee a kill

If enough people call for a Malubeth ban, then I'll put that in as well. I will discuss it with the guild. It's been brought up in game too, although without CP I don't expect it to be nearly as strong. Also in a 2v2, there is more damage and debuffs to throw around.

As for line of sight, the location will not contain any 100% obstructive terrain, like trees or big rocks. It will likely be in the open, perhaps with some smaller variations in terrain such as a hills to make things interesting.

Do you have a rough time of day and timezone in mind?

Also how is poison use going to be monitored? I feel it would be easy after a fight to blame poor resource management on enemy poisons. Especially if people are not accustomed to playing without CP

Poisons have highly visible animations on your weapons when they activate. No poison use will be permitted, and fights will be stopped and the offending team disqualified if poisons are seen activating.

Edit: Oh, as for time zone, yes I'll add that to the OP. It's going to be mid afternoon EST. I'm going to try to arrange a time that accommodates NA and Oceanic players, but it'll be cutting it close.

I would like a betting system put into place for this tournament. Kena and whomever he wants to work with should (after the brackets are set) apply - and + to the teams (i.e. -250 +400, etc). Then I will place bets of gold on the matches. If I win I will have Kena mail me my gold winnings. If I lose I mail him gold.

We can even do over and under betting. For example taking the over on a fight going 2 minutes.

Resto staff can give you Major Mending, as can the Lingering Health pots, so it should be an outright ban.

Vitality potions will be permitted. Using them foregoes getting resources or a regen buff from a potion, so there is a tradeoff. Also, there is no way to enforce against vitality potions because they show no obvious animation when consumed.

Malubeth is still under consideration, but LoS will be controlled by the location that we select. Don't worry, it won't be a factor in the fights.

You should ban Malubeth because it stacks with Lingering buff even though it gives the same effect. It's not a class difference because no class can get Major Vitality any other way that I know of. DK and Templar can get Major Mending easy, but it's an entirely different buff.
