64-bit client

I have recently heard tales of good fortune pertaining to the 64-bit client, and have to ask what do I need to do to switch?

Do i uninstall my client first?

Can I find a step-by-step process anywhere?

Thanks all

    Easy Peasy, Nice and Cheesy

Find the game's directory, probably like this

    C:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online EU\game\client\

In there, you will see the ESO.exe, and the ESO64.exe

Make a Shortcut to the ESO64 with a Right Click, Send To, Desktop as Shortcut

Then use the shortcut to launch the game. Note, you will not be using the Launcher anymore, which is probably better anyway to not use it. But you will have to use the Launcher on Patch days. They may add the 64 bit to the Launcher at some point, but I there is no real reason to use it.
Enjoy the game, life is what you really want to be worried about.

Run eso64.exe. It is in the game folder. On my computer it is:

    E:\Program Files (x86)\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client\eso64.exe

No need for configuration changes. I just pinned that exe to my taskbar.

Search for the zos folder on your harddrive locate eso.exe, you find the eso64.exe in the same subfolder. Create a desktop link for the 64 bit and start the game from the desktop.

Well, I tried out the 64-bit and had a constant 12-15 FPS...even in low populated areas, etc.

Had high hopes but it was way worse than the original in my case.

Original in low populated areas i get aeound 60 FPS.

You may have to tell your video card that that file is a game file and should apply the same settings as the other ESO.exe.

I did that on my computer (with an NVidia card) and it really helped.

Or if you made the unfortunate decision to get it through steam:
    C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Zenimax Online\The Elder Scrolls Online\game\client\eso64.exe

I'm glad I saw this thread. I started by running a non-Steam game within Steam, and I had added both 32 & 64 to Steam. But in trying to pare back my memory usage to get a bit more performance from the game, I figured I'd just stop launching through Steam since I don't really use any of the Steam features anyway, and I reverted to using the Launcher, completely forgetting that it launched only the 32bit. So now, I have a shortcut for eso64 on my desktop now, to assure that I am running the 64bit client.

I'm glad that this thread has been useful.

I wish that the 64-bit client was usable for me, perhaps it's my system though.

Even Im so argue now ..64 bit client is better than 32 bit ...but too much loading screens for me since the last lfg fix that ruined the thing....Anyway , 64 bit is better now. You should give it a try.

but keep in mind, that the patch updates are still running only trough the old 32 bit launcher, so if there is a patch update pending and you run the game trought the 64 bit launcher, you will get an error mesage, that your game is not actual.

then you have to run the old 32 bit laucher, wait for the patch update to finish, close the 32 bit launcher and run the game trough the 64 bit launcher, there you go :)!
