Do/have you used the in-game report?

It's easy to assume other people will report anything (players or bugs) that shouldn't be in ESO. Much like voting IRL. I'd like to hear if you've ever used it and would you use it again?

I have used it to report bugs and a few disruptive players.

I will continue to report bugs/issues when I come across them but will not use it for player reporting. The customer service seems to lack the manpower or willingness to discipline player behavior. They only suggest you block them.

I report bugs all the time. As far as players go, I've reported speed-glitchers (and yes, these were obvious and not just using skills and abilities) and people using racial slurs in zone chat.

I report every bug I find and every player I see breaking the TOS.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

    Meet my characters:
    Command: Do the thing.

Zadarri, Khajiit Fist of Thalmor: The thing was done, as commanded.
Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.

I've used the in-game report system for bugs, but I don't generally use it to report players. I don't use it to report players who I think may be cheating or exploiting. Who am I to judge what others are doing, so I leave that up to ZOS to sort out.

There was one time I used the system either in 2014 or early 2015 when people were intentionally picking up and dropping Elder Scrolls in Cyro as fast as they could to spam PvP scroll messages that you would receive while in PvE and there no way to stop those notifications at the time. The spamming got so bad that I felt as if I had no choice but to report those players.

I report Bugs and give Feedback all the time.

I don't think I have ever reported a player, well, there was one problem player way back in the early days of the game. Won't go into details, but this player would have annoyed anyone who crossed their path. It had to do with Zone Chat and some very disturbing things that were being said.

I've given a few bug reports but only received a response for one of them. It was unhelpful and it felt like the CS agents weren't reading my actual issue... even beyond the obvious first bot reply. The other ones didn't get a response.

I might use it again if I get someone who understands what I was trying to report, but I was really disappointed in my first ticket that got a response.

I'm thick skinned and at times can be pretty vulgar myself, so I don't see myself reporting a player.

I've ran into a few bugged quests, but I'd rather just skip it if I couldn't find a work around. I hate dealing with Customer Support.

You do not get a response from Bug Reports anymore. I think it even says that in the window telling you the report was received. Same with Feedback Reports. The only Report you should get a reply on are Help Reports, that is supposed to engage a game manager or other source of help for the game.

    All the time.

If I encounter a bug, I report it
If I encounter an exploit, I report it

There is no reason not to do it yourself if you are experiencing the problem other than sheer laziness.

However, given ZOS's less than stellar responses, it can be infuriating when problems persist for weeks at a time.

Ah, that's right. I saw them on my portal and bug reports aren't labeled as "bug" so thanks for reminding me! It's months past the fact, in any case. The people who answered my help ticket seemed like they weren't reading my entire ticket and instead latched onto one or two key words (we didn't receive random dungeon rewards for vWGT and we definitely did everything right, it was fixed in a patch the next week, but my correspondence with CS consisted of them suggesting I wait for the queue to pop or try using it again later... like 3 days after we had done the dungeon... what?)

I'm not going to write off the whole thing on one bad experience, though. I'm sure there's a lot of super helpful people working the help desk.

Forum posts just seem for complaints and additional feedback or screen shots and vids to share if you add your ticket number.

That first response may not have even come from a Human. It could have been an automated response from a Server based on Key Words. ZOS used to have humans to answer any and all inquiries, but not for more than a year now. I think they have gone to this automated response system now for initial responses. Which is why it pays to reply to the emails you get until a human chimes in.

I have not submitted a Help ticket in Eons, and I may have to do that to see how that aspect works now. I do have a minor issue where I want to change a character's name (that I have had since release week of all things) so I have been procrastinating on this.

I noticed that in my last bug report, not even an auto-reply that the report has been received.

I think that this is not good: the minimum of a normal Q-procedure is always to acknowledge that the report has been received.

The bug I reported is an inconspicuously Resource sustain bug... of which the player can always argument that he really did not know it.
A stealthy exploit. No vids will ever proof it.

So what do I do ?
    Hope and pray ?
    Send a reminder ?
What a hassle... I cannot even pick up my old report and resend it like an email

Oh, yes. The first email was definitely a bot-mail, and I don't slight them for that. I filed it under "Character Issue" since I felt like it was close enough and sure enough, I got a reply about using /stuck, hah. I know that that solves a lot of problems otherwise they wouldn't be using it!

I did get a human after the first email, but like I said, it still seemed like they were zeroing in on the words "group finder" because I mentioned that we had used group finder to do it. In one sentence. And spent the rest of the email explaining my actual issue. At this point, like I said, it had been several days and by the time where I was trying a third way to explain my plight the issue had been patched. I didn't see a point in dragging it on further for a blue set item I'll never use and probably Casseritite or something. I'm not confrontational to begin with...

This turned into a bit of a ramble, but I know it's not someone at ZOS wringing their hands going "yesssss let's make the filthy customers feel unloved, hisss...." Just wish there were some magic words I could have used.

    @hrothbern

I agree, we should at least have the option of getting an email so that we have something to follow up with. They do give us an Incident Number, which I guess we could use to follow up with, but really, how many people are going to write that down?

This turned into a bit of a ramble, but I know it's not someone at ZOS wringing their hands going "yesssss let's make the filthy customers feel unloved, hisss...." Just wish there were some magic words I could have used.

    @rhapsodious

This is all good. ZOS does read these threads and this discussion may help them if they are looking at ways to improve the CS Experience. Also, others who stumble on this thread who may not have submitted reports will learn what to expect, so it's all good.

I 'ticket' things if they appear broken.

I just recently got back to ESO after a break and so far have ticketed three broken quest lines in a few days. Not reported any players as yet and do not recall doing so in my previous ESO gaming - though I will if I think there is a genuine need to.

Reported a lot of bugs, especially during pts testing, but unfortunately most bugs still make it to the live server :(

Right after launch I reported players more frequently (mostly goldsellers), but lately I rarely met people who behaved reportworthy.
