I have a lvl 40 Breton. It's my only Breton, but I'm thinking maybe High elf will be better, for the long haul especially in pvp.
I considered dunmer also.

Bretons passives aren't as good as I initially thought. Only 3% cost reduction vs regen from altmer.

Dunmer beats altmer by about 1% but altmer has sustain and Templar sustain as we know sucks.

Altmer beats Breton sustain because of cost reduction diminishing returns

Reroll a high elf while you still can grinding is much easier these days

Really? I mean does it make that much of a difference? This must be a min/max thing, because I play a race based off of looks and story not because I can get few extra stats.

why ? templar got %4 magicka stamina cost reduce and breton got %3 magicka reduce dont they stack additively ?

and breton got spell resist which is awsome for pvp

They stack but cost reduction still has a diminishing return on it and thats where champion system comes in. Altmer gets a lot of benefits from it in terms of sustain because dumping 100 points into cost reduction and regen will make Altmers better in terms of sustain now and for the long run too.

That diminishing return exist on the cost reduction star much worse. You need to spend a lot point on it to get only %16 magicka reduce cost with 100 points But you can invest 100 point into arcanist and get %25 regen and you can invest rest of your points into cost reduction +%7 from templar and racial passive :)

Some good info guys. Yes I want it be the best it can be. Looks etc are not an issue to me.

Main concern is my horse training, currently it's got over 40 days on it.

Start 100 percent take away 3 is 97 % take away 4 % fromthat is something smaller add in cp reduction the number you're eating away at makes your percentages into smaller and smaller amounts. High elf will be superior for pvp/pve. I see no reason to roll Breton for any class except maybe Templar magic tank. Dark elf does most damage if played correctly but sustain is an issue and extra fire damage is hardly relevant in pvp as no uses destro on magplar. The bonus stamina could be useful

@Nifty2g also i said my first choice would breton because i pvp %90 and breton has 4k spell resist man its almost equal to one gold 2H weapon's sharpened trait or dual wield's. Its thougher againts magblades and sorcs you can't ignore defensive pros in pvp :) especially if you going to be healer.

    What, no?
You want to put 100 points into Cost Reduction even if it eats into your diminishing returns because right now we are capped at 501 CP. You just get more sustain out of it this way.
Then put the rest into Regeneration to stack up with your passives.

In terms of PvP, I personally would rather take sustain and a little bit of damage over Spell Resistance because PvP right now is largely made up of shields where none of that matters.
    Just my opinion

BTW i got 570cp altmer templar lol but i got breton magblade and i regreted after i saw the 4k spell resist value on breton :p i think both race would be okay.

Breton is best for dedicated healer, for DPS go Altmer its by far far the best so you can have both
