ZoS, Phoenix Battalion [PHX] Thanks You for the Cleaning up PvP!

Phoenix Battalion has stood strong in Haderus, when the rest of the DC fled to greener campaigns, we stuck it out. When we were being assaulted by masses of lagsploiters, ultimate spammers etc., we never quit and never back down from playing ESO with integrity as it was meant to be played. While many other guilds and players took advantage of exploits, we stuck to learning to play our classes and fighting together as a team. We were so happy when we zoned into Haderus and found the map was blue (we are DC only in pvp). We immediately noticed that we ran into none of the usual suspects, especially AD. We noticed that the campaign had been cleansed of exploiters and we had a new DC Emperor we had never heard of! The faction populations were equal, all high.

The gameplay was awesome, the fights were even and sooo much fun! We had a group of about 12, all on TeamSpeak and we dominated the map, not because we are all so awesome but because we played together as a team. In fact, we may have been the most dominant guild group in Haderus that night. All our longsuffering and hard work had finally paid off because the cheaters were gone.

*salutes* ZoS, weilder of the mighty Banhammer!

Blackweb, Commander of Phoenix Battalion
Elyzabyth Wickfield: 508 Breton Templar
Kiama: 508 Redgaurd Stamina Nightblade

Edit: Some in PHX suggested that we throw in with the exploiters, the words "we should do it too" were uttered. I quoted our official zero-tolerance policy on exploiting:

"Expoliting of any kind will not be tolerated in Phoenix Battalion. If you are caught exploiting, you will be banned for life from Phoenix Battalion. You will be kicked out of the guild, banned from TeamSpeak and our website. You will never be allowed to return."

Why so harsh a punishment?

"I am glad you asked. There is nothing more important to our guild than our reputation. When you see the blue and gold checkered tabard emblazoned with the Covenant Lion, you know that it stands for integrity and excellence. There is nothing more valuable to us as a guild than our reputation. If we get a reputation for cheating, we will never be respected or be able to recruit again on Haderus on in ESO."

    *blushes* at the compliment.

We do our best. We have the same effect in PlanetSide 2. We often beat the enemy so hard that they simply quit the battlefield. But we do it with integrity and teamwork :)

Yes a few exploiters were banned but only the blatant ones. Zos said what, 50 people?. That is a laughable number.

There are still who exploit rarely, or not on same person repeatedly. If your post is implying ESO is exploiter free, in pvp or pve then what i see is wrong. Just tonight people glitched into IC sewers and hitting people at bank, can still scale keep walls in Cyro, DC were doing that earlier just to name recent few.

Fact is since people been exploiting for so long, with ESO doing little to nothing, how can you ever be assured people dont still cheat?. My confidence in this regard was gone, many months ago. Mostg of my friends all agree that PvP here is a joke.

We have been in Haderus for a long time. What we saw was hundreds of bans, maybe even entire guilds of exploiters were gone including several former emporers. It was glorious. Time will tell.

Each one of them probably played on more than one character, so even if you might have seen like 200 different guys, according to ZoS they could have banned as much as 400 character names, since each user is granted 8 slots

But yea, Humans are trolly, we'll always have one or 2 depressed unemployed geeks selling h4x0rIng programs for online games, on teh very least. Zeni's response was fairly fast, as well, i mean, the haxfest lasted for what ? barely 2 days ?

Mate thats funny. Exploits and hacks have been around for ages, just some tell friends who blatantly use them.

Banker exploit was going for how many weeks before someone squealed to Zeni?
    Scaling Cyro walls - ongoing
    Speedhack - ongoing
    IC sewers glitching - ongoing

The list goes on and on. Even dungeon finder is still broken. Cant fix the ingame features, what hope to hold for fixing exploits? All above well documented on forums but expertly swept away by the DEVS.

PvP is a hackfest and PvE little care as its been nerfed to hell.

I think your celebration might be premature. There was a big DC push this weekend. With the new DLC + IC changes, a lot of players are just off doing other things.

Nor do I think DC players are so angelic that we'd not see blues missing if there was a huge swing of the banhammer.

EP was showing strong tonight... I don't think we need fear they've been frightened away. :) Good thing, too, Cyrodiil is much more fun that way.

Shouldn't this be in the Alliance War section of the forums? I see little point in this being in general discussion.

Garahel Dravic -- Level 50 Bosmeri Nightblade (EP)
Tamriel Unlimited was a mistake. One Tamriel was a bigger mistake

After so much exploiting for so long, the recent Banhammer by ZoS is most welcome.

Keep up the good work ZoS! B)

Ok now how do I get my own Banhammer. I want my own uber-secret ZoS Banhammer powers! >:)

the 40 or 50 who were banned have nothing to do with the Haderus map being painted blue. It had everything to do with the fact a chunk of blues from Trueflame migrated over to Haderus last week when that 30 day campaign ended...

ZOS gets no credit for how they 'cleaned up pvp'. None. They would not say who was banned, so all we have are rumors of who it was and rumors that many are back. We'll never know because ZOS is amateur. They also said they would speak on the matter and they haven't, people have been clamoring for Jessica to follow up on the "tomorrow" promise that was made over a week ago. Furthermore, cheat engine has apparently been in game and reported multiple times since beta, and most players are under the impression that ZOS cannot detect its use when only minor alterations are made with it.

Why in the F are you thanking ZOS for that?

Here is an article on how Blizzard handled cheaters, and their game just launched, ESO has been out for 2+ years. The difference is night and day.
    http://www.pcgamer.com/overwatch-cheaters-are-having-a-hard-time/

As an aside ... most of the yellow just went to TF because we're performing well there and Haderus has seen actual competition. All of a sudden we have a queue this week whereas there was none last week.

From what I understand banning is done by account and not by player. But starting over from scratch? Ugh, don't think I could do it.

    Heh, wow.

So you think DC took the map because all of AD got banned?

All you need to do is look beside you to see that the campaign hasn't been cleansed of exploiters. Maybe not your guild or group, but 100% your side.

Not saying they are the only ones or that cheating is a DC phenomena. But it is hard to identify bs from people you don't fight.

Don't know why i find this so hilarious. Cause by the way you write i'm pretty sure you got your group 1vX'd on the daily and attributed it to "hax" lol. You are in for a suprise when people come back from doing pve content or grinding for new gear. It's good to be proud of your guild, but it's probably not that great.

Define great. We could be better, we could be worse but we are a team and a community. PHX is all about community :)

Well last night EP was strong too, but we dethroned them which was nice. It seems like they tend to give up though once they are dethroned.

On a positive note, I finally got my two Emperor Killed achievements...hooray! Regicide Red FTW.
