Recommended race for a Stamina Sorcerer?

Soooo, my first character is a Dark Elf Vampire Stamina DPS Sorcerer.

I was thinking of respecing this character to magicka and creating another with better stamina passives.

I see lots of people use the Orc, but I'm not exactly sure what their passive Swift does with the +4% melee damage

. Buuuut, I want to run relatively quickly like Sanic

At the same time there may be better stamina races and I just can't decide, halp plz.

Orc is good for pvp, so is wood elf.,Imperial and redguard. For pve I'd probably go khajitt for the crit.

Stamina S-Orc - Seriously, sorcerers have the best mobility and the Orc passives allow you to capitalize on that. You'll be zipping around on the battlefield, clubbing people over the head with your big hammer. They also have more physical damage and have 6% Health and Stamina. While their attribute bonuses are not higher than others, they sprint faster at a reduced cost (like a built-in Well-Fitted perk). Reguard ot Imperial would also be very strong choices to capitalize on higher base attributes and resource management for stamina and health, respectively.

Redguard is the best stamina race for PvP. You get much more sustain out of the redguard passive than from being a woodelf.
Imperial is not too bad. Orc is not bad either especially because its mobility passive kinda fits the whole stam sorc playstyle.

Redguard, Orc, Imperial, Woodelf, I want to say Khajiit but they really are not the best so I will not mention them.

While wood elf's 20%+ recovery is nice, it lacks max dmg due to not having proper stamina buff ( they are better suited for stam NB )

So your main choice is the first 3 I mentioned. All 3 area great, up to you to decide if you are going 2h maybe an Orc?
If you want maximum sustain ( keep in mind healing comes from stam ) Redguard is probably your best bet.

I recently made one myself ( bless his little baby heart he is but lvl 5 ) I chose NOT to make a Redguard ONLY because I already have 2 Stam based Redguards and a third would just ruin it for me...

BUT if I had 2 chars like you I'd say def go Redguard imo.

Imperial is the best IMO but not everyone has access to that race- health return on melee hits is huge! Other than that kajit, orc and redgard are all solid choices

I'm partial to Khajiit's, but I've heard that the crit passive is unreliable. Some say it works some say it's broken and doesn't apply.

you get max stam, but regen wise woodelf beats it 21%

so why do u say redguards have best sustain?

They have a stamina proc like Imperials do for health. I think it gives them 800 something stamina back when it procs at 50. Depending on proc rate it would be a higher return on Stamina over stam regen, depending on how much regen you have.

I know Orc is a popular choice for pvp, but for pve I have a khajiit and redguard stam toons and I have to say that I'm a huge fan of redguard. The crit is fantastic but I do trials and the sustain is too good to pass up. Also, even outside of trials it's nice to be totally self reliant without equipping stam regen gear.

Redguard passives are perfect for the job both in PVP and PVE. You won't regret it. Others are niche good, however Redguard fits the bill overall.

For any build you need to look for passives that boost both damage AND sustain... you need both in all parts of the game.

With that in mind... Redguards can't be beaten...

10% Extra stamina (Theres your damage)
10% extra regen
Passive to return stamina on hit..

So sustain as well.

Others are still good... but Khajit has damage & less sustain... woodelf has sustain but no damage...

Redguards are the best balanced.

%8 more crit with a crit build means 1,5x more damage

+%10 stam regen

my khajiit got %91 weapon crit + lots of armor penetration it out damage every race because almost every hit crits like a hell

I have a khajiit stam sorc and I am pretty happy about it. Not the best choice for pvp though, but for pve it's ok; almost every hit deals crit damage, which heals me for 3-5k due to crit.surge. Also redguard, imperial and orc would be nice.

I go Wood Elf for the stealth bonus as well as awesome Stamina regen. That and I cannot stand the look of Redguard, Orc, and I don't want a tail.

However, I think a lot has to do with what you intend to play most as well. Myself, I ONLY do PvE questing... so I have a lot more flexibility. Plus, you'll always have min/maxers saying 'this is best' but in reality you can succeed with whatever race you want you just have to play to its strengths and compensate for weaknesses with CP, enchantments, etc.

I thought they changed crit surge so it heals for a flat rate instead of percentage of damage done. Was I wrong?

Ugh, it's down to Redguard, Orc, and Khajiit right now. Not Wood Elf because I've got one of those already. But the same could be said for Redguard.... Ahhhh I can't right now.
