Does the number of champion points determine what Vet level you are?

BluSpixMacaw
I currently have 68 Champion Points right now so what level would I be Veteran Wise?

    Around vet.7?
I admit it's now so weird. My former vet8 character, when playing on account with 3 other former vet. alts which in total gained so far over 370 CP, I can eaasily fight now the mobs scaled for CP160, so I guess former Vet16 mobs. Still hard to get used to new system. Ah and I get now a ton of experience from CP160 mobs on former vet8 alt, who now is CP370 :).

Yes but only gear basically but when you pass 160 CP it dont really matter anymore for then you can use all gear in game anyway

So even though I'm currently VR 3 with 68 CP your saying I would actually be considered VR6 is that correct?

    Yeah, 10CP = 1 VR rank

Just one thing to add here.

The new "level" is not as much as it used to be in terms of import.

In the old days the diff between VET-3 and VET-6 was GEAR-MAX and SKILL and ATT since all three improved.

Now, by the time you hit level 50 or CP-10, you already have the all skills and atta you will get from "experience."
Your atts are done at 64.
Your skills can now only go up from quest awards and from skyshards.

So while Cp30 and CP60 are sort of Vet-3 and VEt-6, the diff between them is not so great as it used to be.

    So VR1=CR10 VR2=CR20 VR3=CR30 VR4=CR40 VR5=CR50 VR6=CR60 VR7=CR70 VR8=CR80 VR9=CR90 VR10=CR100 VR11=CR110 VR12=CR120 VR13=CR130 VR14=CR140 VR15=CR150 and VR16=CR160. Is this the correct formula of how this new system works?

everyone thinks that is the case but its wrong as you can start an alt when u hit lvl 50 the cp points ur main has say 600 now ur alt has, but there is a rub you still need to grind ur skills which still takes a while to get them to lvl 50, so simple answer to a charcter lvl does cp points say what vr lvl they are is no

Every former vet rank = 10 CP

If you were v16 already, you get a bonus I think... not sure about that but I did seem to get about 40 extra cp with the update (510 to 550)

If only we could get somebody from ZOS to help explain this new system it would help with the confusion.

Uh....there are no vet levels. They are a thing of history. Time to start thinking in terms of Champion points.

The Veteran Ranks are still around. They renamed them to Champion Ranks and made every 10 Champion Points equivalent to a Veteran Rank. While the game only scales up to "CP 160/VR 16" the players currently scale up to "CP 501/VR 50"

    Nope.

    Vet ranks were character specific.
    Champs are account wide.

Vet ranks provided skill pts and attribute points per.
    Champs do not.

The only solid connection between the two is the conversion they used during migration for existing gear.

The Champion System and the Veteran System are different, yes, but the whole idea of Veteran Ranks has transitioned as part of this "conversion." Is it identical? No, but it is still easily recognizable. It is because Veteran Ranks are still lingering in the background that I think of the Champion System as the Veteran System v2.0 instead of an entirely new system.

It introduces a number of new game design issues, even if other issues go away. Cadwell is a shambles. Crafting at CP 10 - CP 140 is also a shambles. It retains the same item-to-level problems that Veteran System had. When they raise the "Champion Rank" cap from 160 to something like 180 or 200, it will be a gear grind like VR 14 to VR 16 was.

But, yes, we get to share our Champion Rank with all our characters. We get our attribute and skill points up front. Leveling champion points is faster at lower levels.

The one thing that they did right, in my opinion, was letting us decide what it means to be at each Champion Rank and how that changes our character power. That is the one thing where Champion System stands out as better than Veteran System.
