When was the timer added to the delve loot drops in gold coast? and why?

DB launch morning loot dropped every kill, after the "HotFix" the boss is only lootable every 4 or so kills. This is without twelve people there and plenty of DPS. Is this what you really had to fix so that you could keep the drops low to keep the crown motif appealing?

KennanTheCold✭✭✭I have noticed the same thing, it is very frustrating. Your theory makes sense that they would add a loot timer/cooldown to reduce motifs being farmed (at least the rate there being farmed) in order to keep any future crown store listings competitive.
Hopefully though its just a bugged side affect of some fix or other, and soon itll be back to normal.Kennan Freesword

✭✭✭Actually isnt it normal tp have a delay? If i loot other delve motifs or even just delve bosses in general an immediate follow on respawn kill is nothing, practically speaking.
I always thought they should key it to how long the fight lasted. So if 12 lie in wait to pounce and boss dies in seconds, no special drops. Could tie it to special boss attack that spawns after x seconds below 50% health and the "special summon" makes for special treasure.
Want better loot, so let it be tougher fight.

✭✭Loot drops have always been on a timer, your chance at a motif resets every 10-15 mins.
Not being able to loot is a glitch, or you did not do enough damage and don't qualify for loot.

Lazurynae✭✭✭OK i am really annoyed. Now that my main has done most of the quests, Ive gotten my 2nd toon into Gold Coast. She has done nothing here before today. She isnt uber, Not even close. First world boss kills for her. I have the quest. NOTHING DROPS. Not even a stupid soul gem. I wait, kill it 3, 4 times. NOTHING. I HAVE THE QUEST! IM NOT CAMPING! Give the people with the quest drops. I dont need a motif, it would be nice, but ill settle for a friken soul gem for my efforts. Its a daily quest, there should be a reward for more people than the top dogs, or cats as the case may be.2

✭With the spawn timer, you can have 8 alt on the boss, and switch your char every kill. One of my guildmate who farm the motif does that, it work well.
By the way, the new spawn time is a HUGE advantage. At Orsinium and TG launch, I wasn't able to do the quest/success because too much people was farming the motif. I have a new reroll who do the quest, and even if I can't loot most of the time, I can see the boss and finish my quest easily.1 -

You need to do enough damage to get a loot drop. If there are other people there doing the event, and you are on your "not uber" character, you most likely wont get a drop. Only the top 12 damage dealers get drops. The quest only gives you the loot box that you get when you turn the quest in.
