Still No Fix for The Lousy Audio Issues in Cyrodiil and PvE

Checked out the patch notes only to see that the Audio Issues reported over the past two weeks since the Thieves Guild launch where not even addressed. And as usual none of the on going problems in Cyrodiil. ZOS you need to get a handle on the issues being reported. They are just piling up with every new update to the game.

Me too. And I'm very disappointed again. Playing in Cyrodiil is near impossible without any sound, even with the 32 bit client.

Yeah, this is the one bug I've noticed with this update, sound doesn't start working until I've been logged in a for a few minutes and even then it sometimes cuts out again after zoning.

Understand how frustrating this can be. It's something we're working on fixing, but is difficult since it's an issue that isn't impacting everyone so trying to pinpoint the exact cause is taking some time. We are aware and working on it, though, if that's any consolation.

    It's not on you, Gina.

It comes down to corporate pushing the devs to put emphasis on a release date. Sure we appreciate the new content, but having a stable base engine is much more important.

If it is any help, it might be worth testing the effect of latency, vsync, and TCP buffers. Sound should be synced on the client side only separate from any code designed to sync up clients with other players in the world that might have terrible latency.

Just an idea, but why not put up a download link for a custom client with additional debug traces that affected players can download and play with and then upload a log afterwards? If it helps with pinpointing the problem, I will upload as many logs as you need. :D

The sound glitch in Cyrodiil is not a bug that effects everyone? I have yet to be in a group battle where my entire group doesn't lose sound, as well as the othe group losing sound. Have a hard time believing this.

As soon as one group dies, or moves quite a distance away, sound comes back for both groups. It's only ever an issue with larger battles 15v15 or more.

Its annoying but I would rather lose sound than have crippling lag so that nothing I do triggers. Assuming its one or the other.

I call bs on the sound being a select few. People must not be paying attention. I get hardcore static sounds when I'm gaming. This freaks the hell out of me and hurts my ears when it happens cause I usually have my sound full blast but the static is much louder than game.

    @ZOS_GinaBruno

The audio bugs are common in Cyrodiil. As is the 50% FPS drop bug that you won't even comment on.

I think that ZOS--not Gina specifically--is feigning ignorance. Everyone who tested 2.3 on PTS knew how broken an update it was. ZOS was surely aware.

They just don't care. Much like EA and Ubisoft when they deliberately release broken games and updates. We, as gamers, only have ourselves to blame for continuing to reward the unethical jerks who make the decision to inconvenience us with consistently broken products.

It's not just cyrodil, have the regularly during questing too. Bladestorm for me for example often has a very obvious delay with the audio, which makes timing abilities much harder as you think the ability didn't go off so are tempted to press it again.

What is the "going over speed bumps" like noise (that repeats every @ 5 seconds) in Alik'r Desert since the last patchy patch?
I don't know it I should get motion sickness or (now in addition to all the other workarounds I have to do to get skills to work etc.) or just turn off the sound?

Thanking you in advance for your prompt attention in this matter, I remain,

To me is seems like sound just isn't loading or loading very slowly and then when it does all the sounds of everything ive done in the 30 seconds since I logged in happen all at once. Its like sound lag or sound rubber-banding if you will.

    Hope that helps.

I've not had any sound issues at all with the 32-bit client. But sound in the 64-bit client is a total mess. Random VERY loud static bursts and lots of random sound effects and speech snippets that seem to have no connection with the location or gameplay at all. It makes the 64-bit client unusable for me currently.

I have likewise had issues with sound in the 64bit version. Stuttering sound effects, which often seem wierd or out of place as others have mentioned. It keeps making me jump during Thieves' Guild quests because I think the random noise is a guard or something. :/

How about giving players a refund or extension for ESO+ until this is fixed as this is a game wide bug bothering everyone? Not to mention the oh so many other bugs introduced by the DLC.

So sad there is no regulation for games so you can pretty much get away with anything except outright theft.

This seems rather far-fetched when people can just play the 32bit client that doesn't have any of these issues.

I get the no-sound in Cyrodiil combat on the 32 bit client. Every time I've been in a group, we all get it.

I only get the static and sound effect loops and whatnot on the 64bit client.

I was crashing constantly with the 64-bit client, so I switched to the 32-bit. The audio bugged is very much alive and well in that client.

I had it happen in Kvatch Arena. What was strange was that the announcers voice always came through, then the sound went away during the fights, only to come back after it was over.

Still getting the random static, footsteps, door closings, and zombie groans (of all things!) myself. Since the DB patch dropped, it hasn't happened nearly as often as it used to, but considering it had stopped happening for the most part when Thieves' Guild dlc dropped, only to gradually increase in frequency over the weeks, I'm not sure if that means the sound issue is getting better, or if it'll do like last time and gradually get worse again.

I stopped using the 64-bit client because I kept getting random static. So the static issue at least is definitely specific to the 64-bit client.

Ya the audio and sometimes lag in the Gold Coast has been bad at times. The loss of audio for me is with the 32bit client. I don't use the 64bit client because of all the static and background noise. The lag is present in the cities and world boss locations. Sound is dropping at the world boss locations.

Cyrodiil is worse than ever constant video drops during large fights. I cannot understand why ZOS cannot get a handle on this. Prior to the Thieves Guild the audio was fine. Audio problems seen to just be getting more frequent and worse as time goes on.

To me the audio should of been a top priority not putting out a new dlc which by the way is having audio issues and lag at a alarming rate when large groups of players are in the same area.

Yes, we have 2 totally different audio bugs in the game.
The static noise/wrong sound clip bug is a 64-bit-client only bug, while the loss of audio bug is related to both clients.
