Is this item bug that required a hotfix going to happen on consoles as well?

it sounds very serious and if this bug is in the console DB patch it will cause severe issues and many leaving especially since consoles have to wait weeks per patch.I just need reassurance that you will not roll out the DB patch with this bug in it.

Actually that is incorrect. The reason consoles lag behind is it has to be submitted to Microsoft and Sony in advance. So even if there are bugs in the PC version that get patched before console release, we usually end up with the bugged version until the update makes its way through the system.
So I'd say it's very likely console players will indeed end up with this. Even if it is just for a short time. Until we get an answer I won't be logging in after DB drops on console until it's fixed. I have too much good stuff on too many mules.
@ZOS_JessicaFolsom can console players expect to have this bug as well as the post hot-fix bugs when DB drops for us?
