Question Regarding Dark Brotherhood & Champion Points

Now I've read the Dark Brotherhood Deep-Dive on Champion points multiple times but I've noticed one thing of rather serious importance that hasn't been addressed. What is going to happen to earned experience towards Veteran Levels? There's nowhere where it mentions earned experience only flat Veteran level which could equate to A LOT of hard work just vanishing if that level isn't earned by the time the server goes down for the Dark Brotherhood launch.

If perse a character is 90% of the way to Veteran 14 will they only gain the flat 32.5 Champion points or will they earn 34.75? Will it act as though the experience we'd earned towards the next rank never existed or will it be accounted for? This could mean the difference between a lot of work for characters who were closing in on their next rank.

Sorry not to directly answer question as I don't know the answer, but you cant get a veteran rank in an hour or two, so it's not really such hard work to me.

You can if you have a decent amount of time on your hands but for players like myself who are heavy roleplayers and work a great deal, ranking up isn't a short process. I spend a few days or more at a time on a rank because most of my time is roleplaying with friends. I'm currently sitting at 75% of my next rank and it would be frustrating if that work disappeared.

Odds are... your work disappears and boom ur max level. The CP is just a bonus for actually "accomplishing" the task. 99% of done isn't done.

You earned CXP in the process of getting to v13.9, but you will only get bonus CP as if you are v13.0. You're not losing any work since you've been earning CXP all along, you're failing to earn a small amount of bonus CP.

The CP bonus should be based on experience earned not if you have that final smidge, that's going to be a lot of lost champion experience if they are just shy of getting that next level.

Unless I am greatly mistaken, the amount of xp towards part of a veteran level is irrelevant, since you also earned the same amount of XP towards CP - they are currently systems that work in tandem with one another, and 1k XP towards the next veteran level is exactly the same as 1k XP towards the next CP. Just that at the moment that 1k XP shows up in 2 places (Vet Rank and points towards CP), and as of Tuesday (on PC/Mac) you will just be losing the Vet Rank part of how that XP is displayed. You won't lose any actual XP at all. Think of it this way, xp gain is currently being recorded and displayed in 2 places (Vet Rank, and CP). As of Tuesday, it will be recorded in 1 place (CP), but you won't be losing anything because the current Vet Rank/CP system is just 2 different ways of displaying the same amount of XP.

Well, again, you did get Cp for that .9 vet level... likely at least 4 maybe more, enlightenment and all.

So its not like you GOT NOTHING for your efforts.

Its 2.5 cp per vet level, so you might be looking at a one or two cp difference between the current/upcoming "bonus for single highest vet rank" vs a prorated version giving 1 cp at .4 level, a second at .8 level and the last .5 at full level.

So what you are losing is the time it takes to NOW earn 1-2cp... which if you aren't over cap is not as long as the .9 vet level could have been.

So, while i can see where you are coming from... its not a place or a path of logic i would tend to follow.

Point for me being... had they NOT given any vet rank extra special bonus, this wouldn't be an issue. So to me its like "thanks for the free boost but i want more please" which doesn't mark a path i tend to travel.

The XP required per CP is not changing in any way in Dark Brotherhood.

At any rate, you get a bonus 2.5 CP per Veteran Rank you've earned on your highest character. If you are VR13.9 then you have only earned 13 VR worth of bonus so that's all you get, the answer is to get to VR14.0 and leave it there.

As for XP earned, if you have 100,000 XP to your next VR then it will likely remain the same when Dark Brotherhood releases, you'll just be 100,000 XP towards your current CP rank + your bonus.

I don't think it's something worth worrying about really.

Where did you get that information from? I noticed no increase on the experience needed for the same CP on PTS.

Maybe I misread that somewhere but my primary question remains, will credit be given for experience earned or just the base 'veteran level' and nothing more.
