i think thats one of the coolest traits they have, sometimes they go overboard, but it certainly sets them apart from any other race in the lore.

I like it as well, just can't help thinking they have some sort of personality issue

It's a cultural thing. The Khajiit that are not raised within a Khajiiti community usually do not speak in third person (and do not have that accent either). There is one in Wrothgar who was raised with Orcs, and one in the Reaper's March that "talks like an Imperial" (your character can point that out).

Cool I haven't played any of the dlc. I don't remember any Khajiit in the regular portion of the game that spoke differently.

All Khajiit speak with an accent. It sounds Russian to me.I almost mistook it for German,..for one second.(wishfull thinking on my part,I think)

    Romanian to me

I can see more Romanian in it than Russian, but not so much that I hear it and think it's a Romanian accent (I have spent quite a bit of time in Romania, and also know several Romanians here where I live in London).

Accents from around the world fascinate me. I tend to listen and ananalye the little nuances to better identify them. I love the Scottish accent. I don't think I can take anyone with a Scottish accent seriously. Everything is funny in a Scottish accent.

Have you ever actually been to Scotland?

Unfortunately no I haven't. It is one of the few places outside of the US I would love to go.

Before you do, I suggest you rid yourself of the notion that everything is funny in a Scottish accent, and resist all attempts to suggest that while you are there ;)

in fact this applies to anywhere in the world, lol

That is very true of course :)

It's not like I'll go to Scotland and laugh Everytime someone opens their mouth. I'll wait until I'm in my hotel room.

Honestly, if you want to properly go to Scotland, steer clear of the big international hotel chains in the big cities (where those hotel chains are kind of homogenised around the world), and find B&Bs to stay instead, you don't really get much feel of a place, or of proper local hospitality, if you are in some big hotel.

This is something, I always wondered about since I first heard one talk. But actually nothing weird at all, I figured. Simple spiritual view: The body is a vessel, where the true self is the spirit, that animates it. Therefore they don't say "I" to themselves.

But perhaps they are just simply too high on skooma all the time to speak "properly"...

I think that if you look hard enough you could draw comparisons with many languages when trying to describe how Khajiit accents sound. To me, the most interesting part of the voice-acting is where you can clearly pick up a low, raspy or growling sound, as if mimicking the sounds that cats can make.

They are a cool race. Much cooler that the multitude of elven races. Almost an obsession there are so many elven races. Altmer, Bosmer, Dunmer, Orsimer, dwemer, Falmer. Too many elves

Yet the thing is, I think a lot of folks think people play EP 'because Skyrim', but they're wrong. A lot of us remember landing in Seyda Neen as our first ever truly open world gaming experience, and being dumped in that brilliant weird landscape and culture of Vvardenfell and just going "OMFG"- and just doing our own thing and becoming very immersed - that has shaped our gaming experience from that point on since 2002. It was the weirdest world I had ever been put into since Planescape:Torment, and I honestly feel that some of that weirdness has been lost along the way in ESO - I hope it is put back in when we can go to Vvardenfell.

But seriously, there are two voice-overs that make me puke in my mouth:

    1. Jorunn the Skald-King who sounds like The Terminator.
    2. Brackenleaf - I nearly quit the game because of this voice over.

Hmm... While I don't think there are any dog people in the Elder Scrolls lore (outside of Lycanthropes I guess), there are fox people however. Or rather — were fox people. Then the incident of the Black Marsh happened., which killed off every race but Argonians there. These fox people were called Lilmothiits, and were like Khajiits; but fox-like instead of cat-like.

    Just to make a point.

That's not a Russian accent is just how american movies have done it, pushing it like it was real.
My wife is Russian and i go once a year there, and since i don't know Russian i speak English with them and they don't have that accent.

Is like saying that I since i'm Italian have the "Mario brothers" accent.... is just wrong

Everytime I hear one talk it makes me wonder.

I see no connection between them and Russians, especially that I'm a slav living close to Russians.
What annoys me a little in Khajiiti speech is their "yes" they add so willingly at the end of sentences, since it annoys me also when people do it in real life and it's so popular lately.

Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.
Sahima, Redguard performer: Doing the thing sounds awfully unpleasant and really not my problem.
