I have played since open beta. I play mostly PvE; however I have been putting a lot more time into PvP lately, mainly because PvE can get stale after two years.
For PvP I have mostly doing above world PvP in groups both small and large. I have also occasionally done some TV farming in the sewers and upper IC.
For the past two nights I have been playing in the Arboretum, and I honestly have to say it the most fun I have had in this game since launch. PvP in the Arboretum is how PvP in this game should be. Let me go through the highlights:
- It is true AvA - i.e. there is no Team Orange as has been the case in Cyrodiil lately. Every alliance truly attacks each other.
- The AP gains are fantastic. I think this is mainly due to the quick respawns in upper IC, no keep sieging, etc. Bascially you hop down fight, kill, and probably die.
- You can gain TV stones as well with the element of PvE that is in IC and also small gains from player kills (If you walk in there with a buttload of TV stones, then you need counseling or you are a very charitable person (Merry Christmas).
- It is urban warfare. As opposed to the numerous players who like to dance around rocks in Cyrodiil (so annoying), the terrain in the Arboretum is better suited for good PvP. You can still use trees and such for defense but it is nowhere as annoying as it is in Cyrodiil.
- For some reason there is less butthurt when you die in the Arboretum than if you die in the sewers with 2k stones on you or if you your group keeps getting wiped by zergbad zergballs in Cyrodiil.
Anyway, I would like to thank both AD and EP for a great time (and my 150 kill streak) and for helping to make PvP enjoyable again!
Cheers and good hunting.
