The people are getting compensated since they leveled up all the way to V16 and now those levels are being taken away. All that hard work and time. Poof. They deserve to be compensated for something they LOST. Especially those who loved veteran levels, like me... And are sad to see them go.

Every time you get enlightenment with you vets go to a public dungeon in Orsinium and grind a bit. Depending on how many points you have, but you can easily earn 2-4 CP every time you do this.

I'm telling you this is the best idea ever have ZOS give cp exp for whining, asking for nerfs and so on all the casuals will be happy and the hardcore players will be happy.

How is it fair, that many needed 400k xp for every cp they earned before catchup? and you only need 100k
How is it fair, many get just 70cp when cp goes live instead of the real xp there gain?
How is it fair you just need 16mio xp do get vet16 till patch? Many needed so much more before
How is it fair you get at least 160cps when you have 1 vet 16 char? So some will gets more then 40cps
How is it fair that ZOS said over cap you need 1,5x more xp for cp, but it is(was) 2x more that other can catch up?

How on earth? When a new cap increase will come in 2 years or something. you will not need 26 mio xp for the same range we need now. You will need much less because CP Catch up mechanic...

but the point is,
yes just giving 40 CP for everyone with a V16 could be unfair, since the people under 501 are reaching the cap faster.
But giving xp can also be unfair, since I could just get 20 CP with Y XP because I'm nearer to the cap and others get 130 CP with Y XP.
Problem is, there will be no "super" fair solution.
Still hope you all enjoy the game, and we'll see how everything works out in a week

No. It is 2,5 cps per vet attributpoint you earned.

10 cps for 1 vet level is just the formula for vet remove. So vet 16 is cp 160... you only would receive 160cp when you have a vet16 char and 0 cps. 40cps for attributs and 120cp that you can wear your current gear. But its impossible to have vet 16 char with 0 cps...

Not sure why I wrote this out.... but I recommend @zFib to heed my advice.

How to help out the CP-deprived with 6 simple steps:

Step 1 - Make sure when Dark Brotherhood launches that you have 160CP or more. This will let you wear max level gear! The CP Catch-Up Mechanic will make this a quick process.

Step 2 - Craft a full set of gear with both armor and weapons. Training will be your trait of choice on every piece. I recommend using Willow's Path, Seducer, Magnus, Morkuldin, Eternal Hunt.... also have someone craft it for you if you can't. Level-wise, it should either be CP150 or CP160. Upgrade everything to Epic (Purple) quality. Stack a lot of regeneration instead of damage!

Step 3 - Afterward, purchase some jewelry. If Magicka, buy Healthy or Robust Willpower jewelry. If Stamina, buy Healthy or Arcane Endurance jewelry. These will be very cheap if you look around guild traders (TOPS 3K gold altogether).

Step 4 - Raise XP Gained even more.
• Grab one buddy for more XP
• Marry w/ Ring of Mara for more XP
• Buy Crown XP Scrolls for more XP
OR
• Buy Psijic Ambrosia for more XP
• Become an ESO+ member for more XP

Step 5 - Clear your inventory of everything you won't need. Grinding XP affords you a ton of loot to pick up and you'll want to sell or deconstruct it later.

Step 6 - Grind!
Go into the IC Sewers, Wrothgar, Cyrodiil delves or (maybe) the Gold Coast. Talk to people and find good spots to grind.

Grind in underpopulated spots and good luck you low-CP players!

Recommended Gear Setups

Base Setup
• 5x Armor Pieces. No weapons.
• 4x/3x Armor and Weapons.
Two pieces of this set go on Armor. The other one or two set pieces go on weapons. You can wield either one weapon (Two-Handed, Bow, Destruction Staff, Restoration Staff) or two weapons (Dual Wield, Sword and Shield) to determine if you get the 4-piece bonus or not of this set.
3x Jewelry (Necklace, Ring 1, Ring 2)

Applying this to your build.....

Magicka
• 5x Willow's Path or Seducer or Kagrenac's Hope
• 4x/3x Magnus or Eyes of Mara or Tava's Favor or Pelinal's Aptitude
• 3x Willpower
Training trait goes on everything! The jewelry should be Healthy or even Robust if on a budget! Don't forget to enchant your gear with Max Magicka and Max Health for a stronger build.

Stamina
• 5x Willow's Path or Eternal Hunt or Tava's Favor or Morkuldin
• 4x/3x Morkuldin (if not your 5-piece) or Night's Silence or Pelinal's Aptitude or Tava's Favor (if not you 5-piece)
• 3x Endurance (Agility is too pricey)
Training trait goes on everything! The jewelry should be Healthy or even Arcane if on a budget! Don't forget to enchant your gear with Max Stamina and Max Health for a stronger build.

Ok OP's criticism is that people at cap will get the equivalent of 26m xp for their 40 cp's while he'll get 10m xp for his. This goes against the whole catch up mechanic as he'll then have to gain an additional 16m xp to catch up when the cap is raised.

Currently to get from 501 to 552 takes about 35.5m xp, if the cap is raised to 552 then getting from 501 to 552 will take about 21.8m. The additional xp capped players get has been wiped out by the catch up mechanic as you then don't need to earn that additional xp.

This 'unfairness' as OP sees it is then removed by the catch up mechanic, all seems in order to me

In 5 days, I went 1-50, gained 11VR levels and 150 CP on my brand new DK PS4 toon (with about 115CP inherited from my PC main char xfer that I literally never touched till a week ago). If I grind the usual spots for another week or so, I'll be just shy of cap by the time DB lands. I have a life, a family, a job and work out 2h six days per week. I'm not sitting in a chair wearing a diaper with a controller strapped to my hands and a hole cut in the cushion to poop. You don't have to be a nolifer to catch up, the system is brilliant.

If you're not getting CP, you're not playing the game or doing the correct activities to generate decent XP in a reasonable time. Also, as mentioned, these 40 points are a bonus for longtime subscribers and supporters. Just like people aren't getting infinite material storage unless they, you know, actually pay something to keep the lights on for the rest of the "pay once and forget" crowd.

I give big kudos to those having maxed out in CP and those in the higher 300 and 400 brackets as well. That is a lot of play time to get all those CP. I'm sure most have been playing since day one of release. How ever long they've been at it, they have put in their time and effort and the reward is befitting. I've been at this for a couple months now and been religiously putting in my time. I'm at the halfway point and figured I'll probably max in a month or 2 at the most, at the rate I'm going. So, don't fret. Just put in your time and enjoy the game.

FAIR? is it fair to have a progression system that halts all progression past a certain point (501 CP)? So you want to kick those of us that have actually been playing since release in the ass and reward anyone that just started to play? I have not been able to spend new CP gains for over a month now (and it is a lot longer for PC players) and I will not be able to spend the 40 CP I will get from vet rank removal. Is it fair to have a stagnant system for progressing your characters once you get to the cap? Why does everyone seem to think they should be able to be competitive at endgame content when they first put the game in? Besides, unless you are going for "Flawless Conquerer" there is no PvE content you NEED high CP for. And if you PvP there are now not one but TWO non-CP campaigns. Get some gear, work on your build, learn mechanincs.....and then you can talk about fair after you put a little effort into the game

Pretty much the entire synopsis of the OP's argument.

I played my butt cheeks off for my 398 CP's. I'm still playing every night, and I should be comfortably over 425 CP's by the time DB releases, if not at the cap.

Why should I be punished for playing the game, OP? Why is it bad for me to get my +40 CP's with the DB release, when I've been steadfast in my play time every single day?

You have more perseverativeness (is that even a word?) than I do. Grinding two levels was enough for me to swear of it forever.

Heck, if I get riding lessons on more than one character a session, I start to feel grindy.

I really prefer to just relax, enjoy and occasionally spaz about my need for more space to store all my in-game crap.

That is my point. I got to v16, but I didn't have as much fun as i did before i had that "I need to hit v16 by X date"

Play the game the way you want to play it. Don't worry about not being the best/strongest/most OP character.

The amount of content for a max level character is less than the amount of content getting there.
