Hello, I was thinking about aoe caps and how they work earlier today and came up with an idea.

Currently (to the best of my knowledge) aoe caps work in this manner. For enemies 1-6 they take 100% damage. Enemies 7-10 75%, and enemies 11+ 50%. This encourages zerging over people and general safety in larger groups.

The thing however is that the servers, for good or Ill cannot take large groups of people clumping together and aoe spamming. My solution would be to reverse the way aoe caps work.

Basically under my system of aoe caps, for a group of 1-6 people being bit by an aoe you would take 50% of that aoe's damage. 7-10 would remain at 75% damage and 11+ would take 100%. This would encourage group play of 1-6 people for the "safety in numbers approach" while still giving larger groups significant damage strictly based on their increased group size. Also this would further spread people out and could be applied to "zerg busting" sets and skills.

    I still think the caps were a mistake, and batswarm should have had it's healing per second limited instead.

    It would seem the proper idea would make zergs stronger. It would be harder to kill them with an organized small group.

    Also, nerfing skills as a whole is not very popular.
    Essentially your suggesting nerf all aoe skills and add a multiplier for the number of targets they hit

    How would it make Zergs stronger smaller groups are taking less damage while bigger groups are taking more damage.

    Am sure a lot of PVPers would like for them to make AOE like that the more Mobs your hit the more damage you do is a great idea and isn't a Nerf to skills at all.You shouldn't be doing AOE against a single target anyway.

    Appreciate all the feedback. The idea is to spread people out more and also give small groups a fighting chance against zergs.

    Also certain abilities such as temp jabs/sweeps would need to be immune to this if their hitting 1 target. Tgus would only apply when hitting multiples.
