Hello,
I have a char that have VR16, but champion rank is low.

Will my champion rank be boosted to 160 after Brotherhood DLC?

^This guy doesn't know what he is talking about.

If you are already at Vet 16 you will be boosted to Champion 160 at the patch even if you only have 1 champion point. (Although I would like to see how that could be possible).

Q: If I have VR14 gear equipped, but do not have 140 Champion Points, what happens when this change occurs?

A: The system will ensure that you will be able to wear any armor that you have equipped under the old system.

    ONE-TIME BONUS
It's important to us that everyone feels like their investment in the Veteran Rank system is worthwhile during this system change. As such, we'll be granting a one-time bonus to those who have spent hours gaining Veteran Ranks. When Dark Brotherhood is released, you'll be awarded 2.5 Champion Points per Veteran Rank on your highest level character. For example, with a maximum level character you will be awarded 40 Champion Points. If you haven't gotten to Veteran Rank 16 yet, it'll be worth your while to do so before Dark Brotherhood is released to maximize your bonus!

That's actually wrong. AFAIK all players will have enough CP to wear the CP-equivalent armour of their highest ranked character. So if you had a VR16 character with 0 CP (impossible, I know, but just for the sake of argument bear with me) you'd be credited with 160 CP so you could keep using vr16 (cp 160) armour. If you have 100 CP and a vr12 is your highest character, you'd be given 20 CP. I'm not sure about other CP credits, but you will never have a vr16 character with fewer than 160 CP.

Wrong again. It's an either/or scenario. You either get boosted to 160 or you get a free 40.

I thought it was supposed to be a greater than or equal to thing.

    Examples:

A Vet 16 with 500 champion points gets bumped to 540 champion points.

A Vet 16 with 140 champion points before update would get bumped up to 180 champion points. They only get the 40 since that puts them over the 160 threshold.

A Vet 16 with 80 champion points would get bumped to 160 champion points. The bonus 40 would not get them to 160 champion points so they get the additional points to get them to the threshold.

At least that is my comprehension from Patch Notes and everything else I have read.

Yes, this is exactly correct. At least someone was paying attention. :)

It really amazes me, with how many times this has been explained, that there's still so many people out there that obviously have no idea what's going on and how it's going to work.

Wouldn't the VR12 technically get 2.5 CP for each level, so they'd get 30 CP, not 20 CP?

In my defense I haven't payed attention to anything other than the 40 point boost since I am well over 160 CP.

It will be really disappointing if I will just get +40 points to my current champion rank. I was farming my champion points back in the days when it was 400k exp per 1 champion rank so my champion rank is low (around 90)...

If you only have 90, at vr16, then you will get 70 to put you at 160.

Think of it this way. If they didn't kill the veteran system, you wouldn't get any bonus points because they would have no need to. Bonus points are extra.

What about players who have 500 champion points? They will have 540 after the patch?

Pretty sure, even though they can't use them.

I heard that last names starting A-M get 400 CP and last names N-Z lose 400, unless you are left-handed, in which case it is reversed.

Yes you will be boosted. A character will be boosted to the vet level they are so they can still wear the same gear. You'll be at least CP 160. If your are v16 and near cp160 you may be even higher since you'll get at least 40 points

Yes. But if they have multiple v16 character they still only get 40 cp added.

The information on how it's supposed to work hasn't been widely distributed. Discussions on ESO live, and individual posts on these forums are great, but that doesn't mean the information is actually easily accessible to most players.

They have stated flat out, multiple times on multiple different platforms that you will be able to still use the gear you are in no matter if you are under the required CP's. If you are VR16 with no CP's then you will be boosted to CP 160 the moment you log in so you can still use your gear you have equipped.

    Simple.

You never stop earning CP's, even if you cap at 501 you still gain CP's they are just not usable and you gain them at a much slower rate...

Anyone bothered that people who took time to grind more than one vet 16 are being compensated the same as those with only one? Not like it matters anyway, they dropped the ball and aren't raising the CP cap next patch.
