A lot of new sets these days are focusing on ways to
pull high DPS can work with healing or tanking as well, so here's an idea that I think just about everyone will love! It gives you new playstyles to make use of and would seriously add a ton to the game. Paired with Spellcrafting, we can have truly unique characters and immense customization.
My idea is to create
Ability-Proc Sets.
Here is an example:
In the future, all of the datamined Monster sets will make an appearance.
We will take the Frost Atronach (atronach, Vet Direfrost) aka Iceheart Set to use as an example.
The
1-piece will be Magicka Recovery.
The
2-piece would be something like "Increase the Spell Damage and Weapon Damage of Cold-based attacks by 300. 0.5% chance on dealing Cold damage to Slot the Unrelenting Blizzard Ultimate on both bars for 15 seconds. Costs 300 Ultimate."
New, powerful and unique Ultimates can be implemented this way (and finally help me make an awesome Ice Mage:)). Ability-Proc sets can be extended further as well.
A 5-piece bonus can become "15% chance on ability use to slot Necrotic Spear on your (SQUARE, X, '1' Key) for 1 ability use. Scales off Max Magicka and Spell Damage" Think of this like a stronger Crystal Fragments.
These are just my examples. Tons of cool abilities seen by NPCs can be implemented through this as well. It could allow Pet builds to have another powerful pet or an Ice Mage to really be a real build. Who knows, but the opportunities are awesome as long as they are balanced.
I like it. I want to know what you guys think. Thoughts?
