With void stone, cloth and wood being the primary materials to do the writs. Since TG the resources has changed making these not as simple to gather these. Does anyone know if the writs will be changing with DB ?
Craglorn or the last zone of Caldwell's gold. Hirelings bring some ( albeit very little) I have a couple stacks of voidsteel without gathering in craglorn. Last zone of Caldwell's gold is usually loaded pretty good, since alot of people just do the skill point quests, and people busy farming the highest tier mats waiting for DB to drop so all their alts can wear 160 gear..
All hail the prophet that is Mike Judge, for his Idiocracy prophecy is near fruition.
Another alternative from Craglorn or harvesting from nodes is to pick up the 0 value armor and weapons lying around, improve them with green mats which everyone has too many of and then decon them for mats. Voila!
Am a whimsical Generation Jones gamer. Online RPGs hooked me since '94 and no sign of stopping soon...
My main is a full crafter and one of my alts I stopped at Void stuff / Nightwood of Craglorn. With node scales, Orsinium and Hew's Bane are enough to get plenty of materials for writs
I am the very model of a scientist Salarian, I've studied species Turian, Asari, and Batarian.
I'm quite good at genetics (as a subset of biology) because I am an expert (which I know is a tautology).
My xenoscience studies range from urban to agrarian, I am the very model of a Scientist Salarian.
The method i use quicker than farming nodes in craglorn but it's more costly, but I'm not a fan of farming nodes for hours on end on a daily basis. Guess if you're a gold hoarder you won't like it... It involves stealing items and laundering.
Steal 100+ items -swords, bows, shields, staffs etc. In one of the main city's. You can launder 50 items a day but 1 skill point allows 110 launders I think? Anyway go to a city with lots of items, when you get items you launder them first then decon. Note: before you could just steal the items and decon but now you only get 1 ingot unless you launder it first.
Example of how quick it is: let's say you get 100 x greatsword (cost 24 to launder I think?) = 2400 gold. But those 100 items normally nets 450+ ingots and this can be done less than 10 mins easily.
Also note smaller items; things like shields (15?), daggers (9) cost less to launder but generally the bigger items give more ingots. Most people would rather just farm the nodes but for me personally that takes to long and I'd rather get it done quickly.
Also I don't do craglorn writs anymore- to many mats, all I want is suverys and gold mats so wrothgar is far easier - uses a lot less mats to do writs than craglorn.
Yes I know no more nirncrux for me but I'm ok with that.

To answer your question I don't know if the writs will be changing but I heard they're changing the surveys a bit.
Hopefully they change it so we can see other players harvesting the materials, rather then them just standing about and moving oddly (at strange angles?) from one node to another. It's a small thing, but it's those small things that separate the mediocre games from the exceptional these days.
