Dark Brotherhood is about to be released in 10 days... Do you think they have allowed enough time for it to be BETA tested for bugs, exploits, and issues? Please get involved with the discussion and if your answer isn't an option here, please explain in your response!

Personally, I think they need to take more time to BOTH listen to player suggestions and to check for bugs, exploits, and inbalances. There's still a lot of outcry about many of the changes being put in.

The hype is there and many players are excited for one thing or another. But none of us want more issues to be put into the game with another premature DLC release. Are we really sure Dark Brotherhood won't add more issues or lag to the world we know and love?

I think another month, even another week or two, would give everyone enough time to double and triple check that everything will work.

I really hope they do this release right. I don't want to see a clusterfudge of issues and outrage when this highly anticipated and desired DLC is released.

I say release it now, not because I think all the bugs are fixed but because at the rate they are re-nerfing stamina skills since the initial set of patch notes I'd like it released before I actually end up weaker than I am now and just have to keep quiet and salute all the glorious magicka builds as they streak by with their proxy dets and pull 60k dps in pve while we can't find groups who won't laugh at you for being a stamina build.

Again, like TTG, it feels like a hurried, greedy money grab - there are so many performance issues that , it beggars belief that no one is listening (apparently) and addressing them AS A MATTER OF URGENCY.

I honestly believe that if the content gets released (which itself is a fantastic thing) but the current performance issue remain unaddressed, a LOT of people are going to be pished and will leave, even temporarily (I won't, I'm a sucker for punishment and I still have faith that they will try to fix this brilliant game).

They have a deadline. Its not up to the Devs whether it be released or not, thats totally up to the suits that have never played the game let alone able to tell you how it was created. Im sure the Devs would like to have more time squashing bugs that persist in areas that they had a hand in creating. Im sure the Devs would love the opportunity to take their time on their section of the DLC so that its released with the least amount of problems. But the people that make these decisions have no obligations to the Devs or to the playerbase. They have an obligation to their shareholders who expect PROFIT!.

The purpose of PTS is simply to get feedback, fix a few bugs, tune what can be tuned, and anything else that does not require a lot simulation, QA, or developer time. It is not really a beta. I barely consider it to be a "release candidate". It is more like a preview.

Yes, we've had a whole month.
I post this every time a DLC comes out. They could beta test it for an entire year and there is nothing they could do to replicate tens of thousands of people all trying out the DLC at once.

We live in a world of patches. Almost nothing that you'll buy any more won't have some sort of bugs to be ironed out post launch. Just accept it. This is not a ZOS issue. It's a technology issue.

There are issues on live where your game sound will cut out, sometimes for hours. Sometimes for minutes. It's a really weird bug.

This is such a funny question because while I think the DB release will be a significantly more polished product than TG...they can only include so many changes in the game at a time.

I'm ready for them to release it and start working on race/name change, new 4-man content, balancing %health abilities, and whatever other ideas are on the horizon.

you guys get that the weeks on pc is for ironing out the bugs before the console patch right. Only so many things you can do on PTS, using live fixing them on pc weeks early is it

This is true, and I mostly agree.

But... When bugs are brought to the proper areas and are discussed with the masses, it is important to clean those issues up during beta. This dates back as long as the PTS has been around.

    It needs a thorough reworking.

The problems with this DLC outnumber the benefits and are likely to lose players rather than attract or retain them.
Wipe it, and go back to the drawing board regarding how you want to manage the individuality of classes, both mag & stam in pve/pvp.

And do not introduce extra changes that haven't been tested on the pts.

Thats not always possible. And pretending as if it is just shows your level of ignorance regarding programming. Some of these problems will never have a fix, some will have a touchy fix that breaks every time something changes, some will be pretty benign and will unfortunately be placed on a list of known issues that theyll get around to when they can.

I personally wish theyd patch more often. But thats a decision thats not being made on the developers level but the managements.

As far as I know, which might not very much since I don't give a damn to PTS, DB has been available in there for much less time than TG.

If this game had a solid Alpha Test Team, a short period of Beta Testing (the PTS) would be acceptable. But or this game lacks an Alpha Test stage, or it is too short or too ineffective so, in overall, no, DB DLC should keep running under PTS for more "testing"

The DLC itself - area, quests, npcs - is pretty much ready. It doesn't have nearly as many bugs as the Thieves Guild had on release. In fact, DB was closer to being "ready for live" on the first week of testing than TG was upon actually reaching the live servers.

    However...

Many changes made to the base game, especially regarding classes and the addition to the poison system, could use a little more testing time before reaching live. And a lot more tweaking, too.
Just so that everyone knows, my Altmer still can't have black hair. About a dozen of Altmer NPCs in the game have black hair. Just saying.

Durza gra-Maghul, Orc blacksmith: The thing was done perfectly, in the most efficient way.
Tegwen, Bosmer troublemaker: You can't prove I didn't do the thing.
Sings-Many-Songs, Argonian fisher: Sure, I'll do the thing... Eventually. Maybe.
Aerindel, Altmer stormcaller: After extensive research, I've come to the conclusion that doing the thing would be a waste of resources.
Liliel, Dunmer pyromancer: Aerindel said I shouldn't do the thing. Something about "resources".
Gyda Snowcaller, Nord cryomancer: I will find a way to do it that won't waste resources and make Aerindel proud of me.
Beatrice Leoriane, Breton vampire: I persuaded someone else into doing the thing. You are welcome, dear.

Impossible to give it a thorough going over with the paltry number of people on PTS. Doubly so in PVP where it is hard to find enough people for a decent battle. If you care about the massive change coming to ESO, get over to PTS, help test, and give your feedback on the Public Test Server forum.
