trials - what are they, simple question

Hey everyone
Title says it all

what are trials? when do you grant an access to it? is it solo or group, if the latter then for how many people
if u guys can just give overall info about trials

I am VET lvl 9, mainly doing quests, doing PVP & dungeons
havent been to any so-called 'trials' or any of the maelstorm or dragonstar arenas, so if u could also plz tell a bit about the eso arenas

    Maelstrom is solo, dragonstar is 4 player the rest are 12 players :) hope that helps

    trials are much like dungeoms with way more mobs and stronger bosses. Trials bosses, at least the end ones have a feature called a 'burn phase. Often if you dont kill the boss during this time your group whipes.

    The arenas are different. arenas are a series of stages. Within each stage there are 5 waves. The first 4 is usually just adds and an elite guy at the end, and the 5th wave has a boss and a bunchn= of adds that spawn until you kill the boss.

    all of the stages usually have their own special mechanic, that you need to work around to progress. Stage 1 in dsa has spiketraps, wheras stage 1 in msa has a ball of lightning that follows you around.
