Sorry to sound like a complete noob and all, I have 7 vet characters but rarely PVP, although I know I need to...

Does impen reduce the damage of crits (that's what I'm thinking it does) or does it work against your opponents crit chance, affectively reducing your chance to be crit hit??

I think to negate crit dmg completely you need somethng like 3200 crit resistance. Wich is achievable.

Thanks everyone! Yeah I know that if you get 5 impen with some cp into crit resist you meet cap... Just wanted to know the exact purpose.

Currently on live each piece of impen gives you 250 crit resist so 5 pieces will give you 1250 and 7 pieces 1750. On pts each piece gives slightly more than 250 crit resist so a full 7 pieces gives over 1800 crit resist. Either way you need quite a few cp in resistant to reach 3200.

This info is not accurate. Impen can only reach 3200-3500 which will mitigate 50% bonus crit damage. This means that if an opponent has 0 bonus crit damage you mitigate all their crit damage, however, with so many sources of increased crit damage and the fact that stacking crit damage and chance is the most efficient method to build both burst and sustained dps you will very rarely fight someone with only 1.5 crit damage modifier
